Dodo, Kogan Internet and SpinTel are useful NBN 750 plans to compare, but the best fit depends on your address, busy-period speeds and what each plan costs after its introductory offer. The former 250/25 Mbps NBN Home Superfast tier became 750/50 Mbps in September 2025; that wholesale change does not mean every household can order the tier or will experience those speeds.

What changed from the old 250 Mbps plan?

NBN Co changed its Home Superfast wholesale tier from 250/25 Mbps to 750/50 Mbps in September 2025. The first number is download speed and the second is upload speed. NBN Co said the change would “triple the wholesale download speed and double the upload speed” of Home Superfast. NBN Co’s announcement describes the wholesale product, not a guarantee of the speed a retail customer will receive.

Plans and eligibility depend on address, access technology and provider. The September 2026 comparison described NBN 750 plans as available on FTTP and HFC, while NBN Co says availability varies by technology and provider. Check your exact address with the retailer before comparing offers as if they were orderable. NBN Co’s speed plans page lists Home Superfast at 750 Mbps.

Provider Offer reported in September 2026 Why compare it What to verify
Dodo AU$69.99/month for 6 months, then AU$99.99/month Named “best overall” in that comparison, reflecting its editorial assessment of the listed offer and ongoing rate. Current offer, address eligibility and price after the promotion.
Kogan Internet AU$84.90/month for 12 months, then AU$94.90/month. Listed typical evening speeds: 740 Mbps down and 42 Mbps up. The reported introductory rate lasts longer than the other two offers shown here. Current terms, including any price-pledge conditions, and whether the stated evening speeds remain applicable.
SpinTel AU$69/month for 6 months, then AU$94.95/month. The comparison says the provider claims up to 750 Mbps down. A low reported introductory price. Current offer and what the “up to” claim means for your address. It is not an observed result.

All three prices and the Kogan speed figures are from the same Tom’s Guide NBN 750 comparison. Its “best overall” label is that publisher’s judgement, not a universal ranking. It also cautions that NBN 750 speed data had not yet been accurately measured for the tier. For provider-comparison context, see Tom’s Guide’s provider methodology, which treats speed and monthly price as primary factors alongside service and extras.

How to choose an NBN 750 plan

1. Confirm address eligibility

Run the provider’s address checker and confirm that it offers its 750 plan at your specific location. Ask which access technology serves the address. A wholesale speed tier listing does not establish that every home can order it.

TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Router Dual Band Wireless Internet Router (Archer A54)
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
  • Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
  • Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
  • Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
  • Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks

2. Compare busy-period download and upload speeds

Look for the provider’s stated typical evening speeds, usually for the busy period from 7pm to 11pm. Compare both download and upload figures, and distinguish provider claims from independently measured performance. A 750 Mbps tier label is not itself an evening-speed promise, and an “up to” maximum is not a measurement of what customers routinely receive.

3. Calculate the cost beyond the teaser rate

Compare the introductory monthly price with the ongoing rate, then work out the total for the first 12 months. Check minimum cost, setup or delivery fees, modem or router charges, cancellation terms and any price changes disclosed at checkout. The lowest first-month rate is not necessarily the lowest-cost plan over a year.

NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 6 Router R6700AX, Up to 1,500 sq ft, 1.8 Gbps
  • NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
  • WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
  • SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
  • READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
  • COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.

4. Check support and included equipment

Consider how the provider handles support and outages, and look for evidence behind any service-quality claims. Confirm whether data is unlimited and whether a router, mesh equipment or temporary speed upgrade is included, optional or conditional. A mesh router may help address Wi-Fi coverage limitations, but it is not a requirement for an NBN 750 plan.

Who is likely to benefit from 750 Mbps?

The tier is most relevant to households that need substantial download capacity shared across simultaneous use. It may be unnecessary if the household would not benefit from more capacity than a lower tier provides. A faster download tier does not by itself fix Wi-Fi dead zones, latency, weak upload performance or problems in a provider’s network.

TP-Link Dual-Band AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Gigabit Internet Router for Home
  • Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
  • A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
  • Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
  • Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
  • Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.

Home experience depends on more than the wholesale tier: the provider’s service, address eligibility, network conditions and the equipment and Wi-Fi inside the home all matter. Tom’s Guide’s September 2026 comparison specifically cautions that NBN 750 performance had not yet been accurately measured for the tier, so its provider examples should be treated as offers and claims—not test results.
