Important model note: As of October 4, 2026, Motorola’s available Android 16 guide is for the separately named motorola signature, not the forthcoming Signature 27. The settings and menu paths below are therefore confirmed for that documented model only; check your Signature 27’s own guide or on-device menus before following them. A September 24 report described Signature 27 as forthcoming and said initial GrapheneOS support was planned, but gave no release date or installation details. Android Central’s report is secondary reporting, not an official support commitment.
Which settings are confirmed for the Motorola Signature 27?
None of the exact settings paths, display modes, battery features, or hardware specifications in Motorola’s currently available guide are independently confirmed for Signature 27. The guide is for the model named motorola signature. Use the steps below as a reference only if your phone’s software exposes the same settings; labels and availability can differ by model and software version. Motorola’s Android 16 user guide was accessed October 4, 2026.
For Signature 27, a September 24, 2026 report said initial GrapheneOS support was planned, but it did not establish a release date, pricing, support timing, or installation process. Read the report with that limitation in mind.

Review location access app by app
On the documented motorola signature running Android 16, open Settings > Location > App location permissions. Review which apps have access all the time, some of the time, or not at all, then change access for apps that do not need it. This preserves location for services that genuinely rely on it while limiting access elsewhere.

Turning off Settings > Location > Use location prevents precise location discovery and sharing with apps, but Motorola warns that many useful features will stop working. Use the global switch only if that tradeoff suits you; otherwise, app-by-app permissions are more selective. Motorola’s guide explains location controls.
Review Google account activity
The guide also points to Google account controls for search, YouTube, voice-command, and location information. Depending on your Google services and account configuration, you can review or delete activity and check location history. These controls are separate from an individual app’s location permission.
Hide sensitive lock-screen notifications
If you do not want message contents visible while the phone is locked, check your device’s lock-screen notification settings and choose an option that hides sensitive content. Motorola’s guide identifies notification privacy as a topic, but the available details do not establish an exact path; do not assume another model’s menu route applies to Signature 27.

Which battery settings are worth changing?
Start with Adaptive Battery and usage history
On the documented motorola signature, the route is Settings > Battery > Adaptive Battery. Motorola says it reduces activity from infrequently used apps while they are not in use. You can also inspect battery use over the previous 24 hours or 14 days and set unusually high-use apps to Smart use or Don’t allow.
Blocking an app from running in the background has a cost: it may not provide notifications, updates, or new content until you open it. Check whether an app’s alerts matter before restricting it. See Motorola’s Android 16 guide.
Choose Standard or Maximum Battery saver for the situation
Standard Battery saver is the less restrictive option. On the documented model it reduces background activity, turns on Dark theme, turns off Live Caption, delays app refresh until you open apps, and stops location services while the screen is off. You can turn it on manually or schedule it for a chosen battery percentage. The phone also offers an option to reduce background drain while inactive.

- Universal unlocked: Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other prepaid carriers.
- Iconic design, now even more durable: Ultra-compact flip design featuring a stronger hinge plate made with titanium, beautiful finishes, and curated Pantone Colors.
- Access what matters even when closed: Easily use your favorite apps on the 3.6" external display, all without having to flip open the phone.
- 50MP camera system powered by moto ai: Capture stunning photos in any light and ultra-smooth videos on the move with cameras for every situation.
- Elevated interactions with moto ai*: Capture professional-level photos and videos and enjoy personalized assistance thanks to the seamless integration of moto ai*.
Maximum Battery saver is intended for longer standby when immediate access to nonessential apps and alerts matters less. It pauses most apps and their notifications except essential apps, and disables features including gestures, live wallpapers, work profile, tethering or hotspot, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning. Screen timeout is set to 15 seconds. Marking more apps as essential reduces the savings.

|---|---|---|
| Standard Battery saver | Reduces background activity, delays app refresh, stops screen-off location services, turns on Dark theme, and turns off Live Caption. | Everyday battery extension when you still want most apps available. |
| Maximum Battery saver | Pauses most apps and alerts, disables several features including hotspot and scanning, and sets screen timeout to 15 seconds. | Extended standby when access to nonessential apps and notifications can wait. |
The modes and behaviors above are documented for the motorola signature. Motorola’s Battery saver instructions describe the controls.
Use Battery protection for battery care, not extra runtime
On the documented motorola signature, Battery protection can limit charging to 80%. Its Smart schedule can learn your charging routine and complete the final 80%-to-100% portion about an hour before your usual unplug time. Motorola says a regular 100% charge is needed at least once a week for this protection behavior.
Rank #4
- Universal unlocked. Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other prepaid carriers.
- Super-bright, super-smooth 6.7" display. See your screen clearly even outdoors in sunlight, and enjoy seamless views with a fast-refreshing 120Hz display.*

- Long-lasting battery + TurboPower charging. Power through day after day with a 5200mAh battery, then get hours of power in just minutes.****
The 80% limit reduces the charge available when you unplug, unless the schedule finishes charging. It is a battery-health option, not a way to increase runtime per charge. Consult the model guide for Battery protection details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which display settings balance battery life and comfort?
Pick a refresh-rate mode based on smoothness versus runtime
On the documented motorola signature, go to Settings > Display > Display refresh rate. Motorola lists these modes:
| Mode | Maximum refresh rate in the guide | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Smart & balanced | Up to 120 Hz | Balances smoothness and battery use. |
| Hyper smooth | Up to 120 Hz | Prioritizes smoother, more responsive motion and uses more battery than a lower refresh rate. |
| Efficiency first | Up to 60 Hz | Limits the maximum refresh rate in favor of efficiency. |
Choose a smoother mode if motion responsiveness matters more; choose Efficiency first if you prefer to prioritize runtime over maximum smoothness. Motorola says Battery saver fixes refresh at 60 Hz regardless of the selected mode. These are the guide’s options for the motorola signature, not confirmed Signature 27 settings. See Motorola’s refresh-rate guidance.

Adjust brightness and screen timeout
Use a brightness level that remains comfortable without keeping the display brighter than you need, and shorten screen timeout to a tolerable interval. Motorola says a shorter timeout extends battery life. Attentive Display can keep the screen on while you look at it and put it to sleep sooner after you look away. The guide also documents Dark theme, color mode, Night Light, and flicker prevention; choose those for viewing comfort rather than assuming a specific battery saving.
What do Motorola’s published Signature specifications mean?
Motorola’s specification page for the motorola signature lists a 5,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery, up to 41 hours of battery life, up to 28 hours of continuous video playback, a 6.8-inch display, up to 165 Hz refresh, and peak brightness of 6,200 nits. These are Motorola’s published claims, accessed in 2026; the page does not show a publication date, and the figures are not independent test results or Signature 27 specifications. “Up to” figures should not be read as typical-use guarantees. Motorola’s motorola signature specifications.
The specification page’s 165 Hz maximum differs from the Android 16 guide’s selectable modes, which list refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The two sources describe different kinds of information; neither establishes Signature 27’s display hardware or settings.
