What settings should you try first on PC?
Marvel Rivals’ official FAQ advises players experiencing slow performance to reduce graphics settings and gives texture quality as an example. It does not specify a universal low, medium, or high preset, nor does it quantify the frame-rate improvement. Lower settings gradually, checking whether the particular symptom improves rather than assuming one configuration suits every PC.
Official requirements are a baseline, not a guarantee that performance will remain smooth in every fight. The FAQ notes that slow performance can occur even when a device meets or exceeds minimum requirements.
What to do if PC stuttering persists
If the PC meets the game requirements but you still frequently experience stuttering, the official FAQ recommends reinstalling the latest graphics driver for your GPU using clean installation mode, then setting the game to use the high-performance GPU in Windows.

Optional PC performance features: check availability and trade-offs
CPU rendering performance optimization test
A March 19, 2026 official PC notice describes a CPU rendering optimization as a test, stating: “This optimization is currently available for testing on PC.” To try it, open Settings > Other, accept the privacy agreement, download the feature, and restart the game. The notice reports no measured FPS gain. Confirm the option is still present in your current client before relying on it.

Experimental Switch Shader Compilation Mode
In an article dated April 10, 2025, the official team described Switch Shader Compilation Mode as experimental. It says the feature can reduce memory use and FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes related to memory shortages. The team suggested considering it for players with 16 GB RAM or less who had experienced significant FPS drops, frozen screens, or frequent crashes in earlier seasons. It is activated through the PC launcher; check that it remains available in your current launcher and game version.
- Some materials may render abnormally for a few frames at the start of a match.
- Initial rendering of some materials may stutter.
- Systems with six or fewer CPU threads may stutter more when this mode and AMD FSR3 Frame Generation are both enabled.
How to enable console HFR mode
The PC suggestions above do not apply to console HFR setup. According to the official FAQ, HFR mode is supported on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, and requires a display compatible with HDMI 2.1 and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Check whether the PC meets the published requirements
The official PC requirements published in the December 5, 2024 FAQ are the same for minimum and recommended memory and storage, but list different graphics cards:

The FAQ recommends installing the game on an SSD “for better experience”; it does not claim SSD installation raises in-match FPS or guarantees stability.

What this guidance can—and cannot—establish
Marvel Rivals’ official store listing describes the game as PvP, while the reviewed official materials do not verify a specific large PvE mode or publish settings tuned for one. Official update listings include Version 20261001 dated October 1, 2026, but an update listing alone does not establish a PvE mode or a tested performance preset. Treat these steps as general troubleshooting for the supported platforms, not settings proven for a particular large PvE encounter. No reviewed official source publishes a benchmark or measured improvement for the CPU optimization or the settings changes above.
