For a larger convertible with a more traditional laptop feel, consider the LG gram Pro 2-in-1 16. A bigger screen is not automatically a better Surface Pro replacement: keyboard stability, tablet comfort, pen cost, app compatibility, and the full configured price matter too.
First decide which form factor you want
The Surface Pro is a tablet with a removable keyboard, so alternatives that look similar on a spec sheet can feel quite different in daily use.
- Clamshell: A conventional laptop with a permanently attached keyboard. Choose this if you mostly work at a desk or on your lap and rarely need tablet mode.
- 360-degree convertible: The keyboard stays attached and folds behind the touchscreen. This offers laptop and tablet modes without removing the keyboard, but a large, heavy device can be awkward to hold as a tablet.
- Detachable: A tablet-first device with a removable keyboard. This is the closest match to the Surface Pro’s flexible setup, but check whether the keyboard and pen are included in the price.
Then compare screen size and panel, weight, ports, processor architecture, pen and keyboard costs, and the exact memory and storage configuration. For a complete cost comparison, include any adapter or dock you need.

Choose a detachable if you still want a tablet-first device
ASUS ProArt PZ14: closest in format, but a premium option
The ProArt PZ14 is a 14-inch detachable with a 2880-by-1800 OLED touchscreen, 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, and configurations up to 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage. The cited comparison describes a detachable Bluetooth keyboard/stand cover and pen support; confirm which accessories are included with the specific configuration you are considering. Check Windows-on-Arm compatibility before committing
The ProArt PZ14’s Snapdragon processor makes Windows-on-Arm compatibility a practical purchase check. Before relying on it for work, verify that your specialist applications, older Windows software, drivers, and less common peripherals work as required. Dell also claims up to 31 hours of streaming battery life for the listed model family. These are manufacturer specifications and claims; check the exact model, configuration, and battery test notes on Dell’s current page rather than treating the maximum as typical runtime. Microsoft Surface Laptop 15-inch: the clamshell in the Surface family
Microsoft’s June 2026 announcement lists 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop models powered by Snapdragon X2. For the 15-inch model, Microsoft says “up to 19 hours” based on local video playback and cautions that battery life varies with use, network, configuration, and settings. Choose this over a detachable only if a fixed laptop keyboard suits your routine better than removing one. Its Surface branding does not make it a Surface Pro-style tablet replacement.

How to make the comparison useful before buying
- Decide where the keyboard belongs. Choose a clamshell for a stable, always-attached keyboard; a convertible if you want to fold the screen back; or a detachable if you regularly use the screen as a separate tablet.
- Compare the full setup price. Check the selected memory and storage, whether the keyboard and pen are included, and whether you need a dock or adapter. Accessories can change the cost of a detachable setup substantially.
- Check your software and peripherals. If a device uses Windows on Arm, confirm support for essential apps, drivers, older software, and specialist peripherals before replacing a system you depend on.
- Read battery claims with their test basis. Manufacturer estimates and third-party test results are not interchangeable. Note the model, configuration, brightness or playback conditions, and whether the figure is an “up to” claim or a measured test result.

Which alternative should you choose?
- Choose the ASUS Vivobook 16 Flip if you want a large OLED touchscreen and built-in keyboard at a cited lower starting price, and can accept a roughly four-pound device that is less comfortable to hold as a tablet.
- Choose the ASUS ProArt PZ14 if detachable form is the priority and you are prepared for its cited premium price and to verify Windows-on-Arm compatibility.
- Choose the Dell XPS 16 or Surface Laptop 15-inch if you want a conventional clamshell and do not need a removable keyboard.
- Consider the LG gram Pro 2-in-1 16 if a large-screen convertible is appealing and you prefer a more traditional laptop experience.
For a touch-and-pen convertible beyond those options, the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is another model to check.
