The iQOO 16 launched in China on September 29, 2026, as a performance-focused flagship with a 2K, 165Hz display. If you want a different balance of camera reach, software support, or brand continuity, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and iQOO 15 are the clearest alternatives in the available specifications. There is no shared independent test or verified current-price comparison for these phones, so the right choice depends on your priorities and what is sold in your market.
What the iQOO 16 offers
Vivo’s official announcement positions the China-launched iQOO 16 as a performance flagship and identifies a Snapdragon 8-series processor and a jointly developed 2K, 165Hz Samsung Display panel. Android Central’s launch coverage reports further details for the China version: a 6.85-inch 165Hz AMOLED display, an 8,400mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and three 50MP rear cameras. It reports China pricing of CNY 5,999–8,499; that is not a local price conversion or an India launch price.
Those published specifications make the iQOO 16 appealing on paper to buyers focused on a large, high-refresh display and fast charging. They do not establish real-world battery life, sustained gaming performance, or camera quality. Battery capacity, processor family, and megapixel count alone cannot settle those questions.
Which iQOO 16 alternative fits your priorities?
| Priority | Phone to consider | What the published information supports | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camera flexibility and stated software support | Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra | TechRadar lists a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, 10MP 3x telephoto, 50MP 5x telephoto, and seven years of upgrades. | Local price and availability; whether its camera and software experience suit your needs. These figures are not a head-to-head test against the iQOO 16. |
| Stay with iQOO and consider a previous generation | iQOO 15 | iQOO Global lists a 6.85-inch 144Hz display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. | Local stock and price. The available specifications do not establish that it is cheaper than the iQOO 16 where you live. |
| Prioritize the iQOO 16’s listed gaming-oriented hardware | iQOO 16 | Vivo identifies its performance positioning and 2K 165Hz display; Android Central reports the battery and charging specifications for the China version. | Regional availability and compatibility, plus independent evidence on gaming, endurance, and camera results. |
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: consider it for camera range and updates
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the more natural alternative if multiple focal lengths and a published long update commitment matter more to you than matching the iQOO 16’s high-refresh gaming positioning. TechRadar’s Galaxy S26 Ultra guide lists a 6.9-inch 3120×1440 screen, a 5,000mAh battery, the four rear cameras shown above, and seven years of upgrades.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. That specification set offers dedicated 3x and 5x telephoto cameras alongside the main and ultra-wide cameras. It does not prove that the S26 Ultra takes better photos than the iQOO 16: the cited information does not provide a direct camera comparison. Nor should the published 5,000mAh capacity be treated as a battery-life result. Compare the phone’s local price, software policy, and camera features against your own use rather than treating megapixel counts as a quality ranking.
iQOO 15: consider it if you want to stay in the brand family
The iQOO 15 is a straightforward candidate if you prefer iQOO’s product line and do not need the newest model. iQOO Global’s comparison tool lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 6.85-inch 144Hz display for the iQOO 15. Its listed refresh rate is lower than the iQOO 16’s 165Hz panel, but both are high-refresh displays on paper.

Do not assume the previous-generation model is a better deal just because it is older. No current local price, stock check, or like-for-like performance test is established here. Check the exact regional model and seller listing before deciding whether the iQOO 15’s price and specifications make sense for you.
Check availability before comparing prices
The confirmed launch detail in the cited material is the iQOO 16’s China release on September 29, 2026. It does not establish current sales in India or other international markets. The Economic Times’ September 17, 2026 India preview predates that launch and said India timing and pricing were not confirmed at that point; it cannot establish the phone’s post-launch status.

Before treating any option as available or affordable, check current listings from sellers serving your country. Confirm the regional model, network compatibility, software and warranty terms, and the actual price you can buy it for. The reported China price for the iQOO 16 should not be compared directly with a local listing for another phone as though both were regional retail prices.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to make the comparison
- For gaming: compare independent sustained-performance and thermal tests for the exact models you can buy. The listed processor and refresh rate do not establish frame rates or long-session performance.
- For the display: weigh resolution, size, refresh rate, and your preference for the phone’s overall form factor. The iQOO 16 and iQOO 15 are listed at 6.85 inches; the S26 Ultra is listed at 6.9 inches.
- For cameras: consider the focal lengths you use, especially the S26 Ultra’s listed 3x and 5x telephoto cameras. Camera specifications do not replace sample comparisons or hands-on reviews.
- For battery and charging: compare independent endurance results and charging tests for the exact regional versions. The iQOO 16’s reported 8,400mAh capacity and charging rates are specifications, not a measure of how long it lasts in your routine.
- For longer ownership: weigh the S26 Ultra’s seven-year upgrade figure as listed by TechRadar against the support terms published for the exact alternatives in your region.
- For value: use current local prices and availability, not the assumption that an older model or a China price will translate into a saving where you live.
The sources provide product specifications and editorial coverage, not a common independent test across gaming, display, cameras, battery, software support, price, and availability. Treat the comparison as a way to narrow your shortlist, then check current regional terms and independent results for the features that matter most to you.
