There are no documented graphics presets or game-specific performance settings to change in Cities: Skylines – Nintendo Switch Edition. Nintendo’s listing confirms handheld, tabletop, and TV play, but does not specify resolution or frame rate for any mode. If a large city feels slow, changing modes or general console settings is not a documented fix.
Are there graphics or performance settings on Switch?
The available Nintendo listing does not identify an in-game graphics menu, adjustable resolution, frame-rate option, or performance preset for this edition. That means there is no substantiated “best settings” combination to apply; advice about changing PC graphics options does not translate into a Switch configuration.

Nintendo lists the game as Cities: Skylines – Nintendo Switch Edition, a download release dated 14 September 2018, published by Paradox Interactive and adapted for Switch by Tantalus Media. Nintendo’s product listing confirms the edition and supported play modes.
Does handheld, tabletop, or TV mode run better?
The game supports handheld, tabletop, and TV modes, and Nintendo lists the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as compatible. The listing provides no mode-by-mode resolution or performance comparison, so there is no evidence that docking or undocking improves frame rate or simulation speed. Choose a mode for comfort and convenience, not as a verified optimization.
#1 Best Overall
- Explore each stage and then find even more secrets by making your way through the stage backwards on the flip side
- Overcome varied enemies and obstacles, like Zombie Guys, Skelesaurus, Ukiki, and Monty Mole as you seek out hidden collectables; ESRB Content: Mild Cartoon Violence; Genre: Action, Platformer
- Pass a Joy Con controller to a friend for 2 player cooperative exploration
- Clad Yoshi in collectable, protective, handicraft costumes as he makes his way through each stage
What performance should you expect in a large city?
A Nintendo Life review from the 2018 launch period reported that frame rates could fall into the low 20s when managing a larger urban hub. This is a historical review observation, not a controlled benchmark or a current measurement, and it should not be treated as a guaranteed frame rate for every city or play session.
Can a console setting improve the game?
Nintendo’s general System Settings are reached from the HOME Menu: select System Settings, then choose a setting from the menu. Nintendo’s support instructions explain that navigation, but do not establish a console-level setting that improves this game’s graphics or simulation performance. The menu is not a hidden game-specific graphics panel.

- Ferocious Competition - At the heart of Puyo Puyo Tetris is the fighting spirit of players competing against each other to be most clever, cunning, and quick-witted one to set up devastating attacks on opponents. It's the classic easy-to-learn puzzles mashed up into a multiplayer battle like no other!
- Adventure Mode - The game also has a single player mode with ten unique acts, eatch with ten stages. They feature different characters from the Puyo Puyo or Tetris universes and have unique challenges to learn and master game mechanics that players must overcome!
- Arcade Modes - Online play has Puzzle League, which tracks players' ratings, players can save replays to upload and share, and more.
- There's also an in-game shop players can use their points to unlock different Puyo and Tetrimino skins, background music, stages, and more.
Why Cities: Skylines II settings do not apply
Some online optimization advice covers resolution, depth of field, and other graphics controls in Cities: Skylines II. Paradox’s graphics optimization guide, updated 4 August 2026, is explicitly for that sequel. Its PC guidance is not documentation for the original Cities: Skylines – Nintendo Switch Edition.
