Titanfall 2 is the strongest all-round pick if you want a sci-fi FPS with both a single-player campaign and multiplayer. If you care more about a demanding campaign, try DOOM Eternal; if you want multiplayer built around portal tricks, consider Splitgate. None is a direct Halo replacement, so choose by the parts of Halo you most want to keep.
Which games offer both a campaign and multiplayer?
Titanfall 2: the best all-round match
EA describes Titanfall 2 as having a new single-player campaign about the bond between a Pilot and a Titan, alongside an expanded multiplayer experience. That makes it the clearest fit here if you want both modes in a science-fiction shooter. Its fast pilot movement and mech combat give it a very different feel from Halo’s combat, however. DOOM Eternal: campaign first, with a different kind of PvP
DOOM Eternal pairs a single-player campaign with BATTLEMODE, a 2-versus-1 multiplayer mode described by Bethesda and PlayStation. It suits players who want an intense FPS campaign and are open to a multiplayer format unlike conventional Halo arena battles. Bethesda’s DOOM Eternal overview and PlayStation’s DOOM Eternal listing
Which game is best if you mainly want multiplayer?
Splitgate: portal-based matches
PlayStation describes Splitgate as a free-to-play multiplayer shooter with player-controlled portals and casual and competitive modes. Its portal mechanic changes how players move and attack, making it a distinctive option if your main interest is multiplayer rather than a Halo-style story campaign. The cited PlayStation listing does not establish a story campaign, so treat Splitgate as a multiplayer pick, not a complete campaign-and-multiplayer substitute. PlayStation’s Splitgate listing

What about a new Halo campaign?
Halo: Campaign Evolved is an announced remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign, rather than an alternative from another franchise. Xbox Wire’s October 2025 announcement planned it for 2026 and listed Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. PlayStation’s listing describes two-player console split-screen and up to four-player online co-op. The cited material describes a campaign remake and cooperative play, not competitive multiplayer; release timing, platforms, and modes may change.
