If you want a Kingdom Hearts-like adventure you can play with friends, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the clearest match in the available recommendations: GamesRadar+ describes it as a four-player co-op action RPG. It shares the action-RPG format, but the evidence here does not establish that its story, tone, or worlds resemble Kingdom Hearts. Other games on the list may echo Kingdom Hearts’ combat, party, or colorful fantasy qualities, but a team of computer-controlled companions does not mean another person can join.
Choose by the part of Kingdom Hearts you want to recapture—and check the specific edition’s multiplayer details before buying.
Best confirmed co-op match: Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the strongest pick if playing an action RPG alongside friends matters more than matching Kingdom Hearts’ Disney-linked worlds or story. GamesRadar+’s April 27, 2026 roundup describes it as a four-player co-op action RPG: GamesRadar+’s multiplayer RPG recommendations.
That supports a useful but limited comparison: both games are action RPGs, and Relink has a confirmed co-op description. The source does not establish which platforms or editions support co-op, whether the campaign is playable cooperatively, whether play is local or online, or whether cross-play is available. Confirm those details for the version you plan to play rather than assuming every mode or platform supports the same features.

- Maladum is a fantasy miniatures board game set in the kingdoms of Enveron, a prosperous continent on a distant world
- Your players control small bands of Adventurers seeking their fortune across a detailed 3D gaming area (no glue or paint required)
- You must venture out from your camp, defeat your enemies, complete the objectives and get back to safety -- that last part is vital!
- When the Adventurers have taken their actions, the game fights back -- evil revenants shamble towards you, wandering beasts emerge from their lairs and fellow NPC Adventurers find themselves lost in the chaos, all controlled by the game's mechanics!
What “like Kingdom Hearts” can mean
Kingdom Hearts combines several appealing elements, and no alternative listed here is established as matching all of them. Square Enix’s official series overview is a reference point for the series itself. For choosing a substitute, separate the qualities you want:
- Action combat: real-time battles and active control rather than turn-based encounters.
- Party dynamics: companions who fight alongside the lead character. They may be AI-controlled, not human co-op partners.
- Colorful fantasy: imaginative settings, characters, and an adventurous tone.
- Disney-linked worlds or crossover appeal: familiar licensed characters and settings, a more specific appeal than general fantasy.
- Character and story connections: links to Kingdom Hearts or its creators, which do not necessarily mean similar gameplay.
Other games that echo parts of Kingdom Hearts
These alternatives are comparisons for particular qualities, not confirmed co-op recommendations. The cited coverage describes their combat, party, or presentation, but does not establish human multiplayer support for the editions discussed.

Trials of Mana: action combat and a hero team
The Trials of Mana remake is described as an action RPG with a team of heroes, dynamic combat, and 3D environments. That makes it a reasonable comparison if you want a fantasy action-RPG and party feel. It does not establish that a second human player can join. See GamingScan’s Kingdom Hearts alternatives guide for the comparison.
Ni no Kuni II: colorful characters and party-based combat
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is described as having real-time combat, party customization, and companions who can cast spells or buff allies. ONE Esports also highlights its colorful characters, story, and action-heavy combat as reasons Kingdom Hearts fans might enjoy it. Those similarities are about the experience, not evidence of co-op. Final Fantasy XV: exploration and active combat
Final Fantasy XV has been compared with Kingdom Hearts for its combat mechanics and exploration; GamingScan also points to its Active Cross Battle system. Consider it for action and adventure rather than as a confirmed multiplayer option. Sources: GamingScan and ONE Esports.
Epic Mickey: the Disney-world appeal
Epic Mickey is a Disney-centered platform adventure. It is the most direct fit in this list for wanting a Disney-focused setting, but it is less like Kingdom Hearts in RPG combat. The comparison comes from ONE Esports’ list of games for Kingdom Hearts fans; the cited material does not establish co-op support.

The World Ends With You: a character connection, not a close substitute
The World Ends With You is a Square Enix action RPG with a direct character connection to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Its unusual controls and story make it a distinct choice rather than an interchangeable Kingdom Hearts-style co-op game. The cited comparison is from ONE Esports; it does not verify multiplayer support.
Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth: real-time action and character design
Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth may appeal if you are drawn to real-time combat and character design connections. The cited coverage does not establish co-op for the editions discussed, so treat them as style comparisons, not confirmed options for playing together. Source: ONE Esports.

How to verify co-op before you choose
A multiplayer label or party of heroes alone does not tell you how another person can play. Before choosing a game for a shared playthrough, check the official listing for the exact edition and platform, then verify:
- Whether multiplayer is supported at all, and the maximum number of players.
- Whether co-op works in the campaign or only in separate missions or modes.
- Whether the mode is online, local, or both.
- Whether players need the same platform, and whether cross-play is supported.
- Whether every player needs a separate copy or account.
The strongest sourced co-op claim in this guide is GamesRadar+’s description of Granblue Fantasy: Relink as a four-player co-op action RPG; the details above are not established by that description. Check the official product listing for the platform and edition you intend to use.
Kingdom Hearts collection note
If the goal is to revisit Kingdom Hearts rather than find a co-op substitute, Square Enix’s collection page describes Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece as containing six stories from the 1.5+2.5 ReMIX collection. It also advertises an overall collection launch for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026. As of October 7, 2026, that date is upcoming, not an already available launch. This is a series reference, not a co-op recommendation: Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts collection page.
