Population: One: the stronger Quest pick for movement and squads
Population: One combines climbing and gliding with building and squad combat. Those movement tools can scratch some of the traversal itch, but they are not Titanfall wall-running or Titan piloting. The free listing cited for this recommendation is the native Quest edition. Steam currently says its PC listing is no longer available, so do not assume you can get it free for PCVR through Steam. Confirm the current Quest store listing before downloading.
Blaston: dodge and shoot in one-on-one duels
Blaston changes the scale of the action: instead of crossing a campaign battlefield, you face one opponent and physically dodge slow-moving projectiles while returning fire. It fits if you enjoy moving your body to avoid shots, but it is neither a campaign shooter nor a substitute for wall-running. Confirm the price and exact edition in your platform’s store.

Free is a store- and edition-specific claim, not a guarantee that every version is free or that every optional purchase is absent. The clearest platform distinction in the available listings is Population: One: the native Quest edition is identified as free, while Steam says the PC listing is unavailable. Gorilla Tag’s price may also vary by platform. Check the exact listing on the headset or PC store you plan to use before installing.
Pavlov is a relevant VR multiplayer shooter, but the Steam listing was paid at the time it was checked, so it does not belong on a free-on-Steam recommendation list. Its price may change; check the live listing if you are considering it as a paid alternative.

Check service longevity before choosing an online game
Two availability caveats matter for current recommendations. Hyper Dash’s cited guide reports the announced November 1, 2026 sunset, which makes its remaining availability time-sensitive. The same guide reports that Rec Room’s online service shut down on June 1, 2026; older lists that still recommend it as a current online game are out of date.
