Where to find free games that run in a browser
CrazyGames: broad genre selection
CrazyGames organizes its catalog into genres and features games including Shell Shockers, Agar.io, Uno Online, Geometry Dash, Moto X3M, Smash Karts, GeoGuessr, and Hangman. Its homepage says games load in a browser and are available across desktop and mobile categories, including Chromebooks, smartphones, and tablets. That is a platform-level claim, not a guarantee that every game works on every device.
CrazyGames reports more than 4,500 games and more than 60 million monthly users on its homepage. These are the platform’s own figures; the page does not state a measurement date, and both counts may change.
Poki: easy-to-browse casual picks
Poki features driving, skill, puzzle, and multiplayer games. Its homepage names Drive Mad as a driving game, Stickman Hook as a skill game, and Smash Karts as a multiplayer option. The page’s trending examples include Level Devil, Subway Surfers, and Blocky Blast Puzzle as well. Trending order is a changing snapshot, not a durable quality ranking.

Poki advertises 1,500 free games and more than 100 million monthly players. Those are Poki’s own figures; its homepage does not give a measurement date.

How to choose a game that will actually play without a download
- Choose a starting point by genre. Use CrazyGames or Poki for broad category browsing, or an editorial list such as PC Gamer’s for indie suggestions.
- Open the individual game page. Look for a Play, browser, or web version option. A platform catalog may also contain games that require a download.
- Check whether “free” means the full game. Some browser versions are demos. Cinevva labels its Vampire Survivors browser version a demo, for example; do not assume a browser build includes the complete release.
- Match the game to your device and controls. Browser play avoids installing a separate game, but still requires an internet-capable device and compatible browser. If you are on a phone or tablet, verify that the specific game supports it rather than relying only on a platform’s general mobile claim.
What “no download” does and does not mean
A browser game launches from a web page instead of requiring a separate game installation. It does not mean you can play offline, that every catalog title runs in a browser, or that every game is a complete free release. PC Gamer notes that not every itch.io listing is browser playable, so check the game’s own page before choosing it. A game page is also the best place to confirm whether access is a demo and whether a device or region restriction applies.
For curated indie options, PC Gamer’s browser-game list was updated April 21, 2026 and includes titles such as I’m Not a Robot, Guess Where You Are, An Average Day at the Cat Cafe, Friday Night Funkin’, Cookie Clicker, and Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup. Cinevva’s list was published June 30, 2026 and marked updated September 6, 2026; it includes Dragonsweeper, Adventures With Anxiety!, We Become What We Behold, Six Cats Under, Sort the Court!, Friday Night Funkin’, Backpack Hero, a Vampire Survivors demo, and Dome Romantik. These are editorial recommendations, so use the individual game listing to verify current access and scope.
