For a direct comparison with Browserless, also evaluate ScreenshotOne and Urlbox: their documentation describes full-page capture and scrolling to expose lazy content. If you need screenshots as part of visual testing rather than a standalone screenshot request, BrowserStack Percy is an adjacent option.
No available comparison establishes a universal winner for speed or reliability. Test candidates on representative pages, especially if they have sticky elements, lazy images, animation, or unusual page heights.
Best alternatives to Browserless for full-page screenshots
| Option | What it supports | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo | Website screenshot API with full-page capture that loads lazy images; image output includes PNG, JPEG, or WebP, with PDF also available. It offers options such as viewport, device presets, waits, custom CSS and JavaScript, and request blocking. | Try it first if you want an API with cleanup for consent banners and popups, explicit page-verdict and billing headers, and an MCP server for AI agents. |
| ScreenshotOne | full_page=true enables full-page capture and automatically enables scrolling unless overridden. Documentation also describes section-based capture and controls for viewport, scrolling, motion, and wait behavior. |
Consider it if you want to tune the capture algorithm and behavior. Additional rendering-quality tuning can affect performance, and rendering can still fail on some pages. |
| Urlbox | full_page=true enables full-page capture; its default behavior scrolls down to expose lazy content. It documents stitch mode, optimized for accuracy, and native mode, optimized for speed. |
Compare its two capture modes on your target pages. Urlbox notes that native mode may not work well on every website. |
| BrowserStack Percy | Percy Automate documents full-page screenshots for pages that require multiple scrolls. | Consider it when full-page captures belong in a visual-testing workflow. It is an adjacent choice, not presented here as a direct one-request screenshot API. |
What matters when capturing a full page
A full-page option controls how much of a page is captured; it does not, by itself, ensure that content which loads only after scrolling will appear. Check whether the service scrolls the page before capture, whether that behavior can be configured, and how it produces the final image.
- Lazy-loaded images and content: The browser may not request an image or render a section until it approaches the viewport. A capture that does not scroll first can therefore omit content, even if it requests a full-page image.
- Sticky or fixed elements: Headers, banners, and floating controls may behave differently as the page scrolls or as sections are combined. Inspect the output for duplicated, misplaced, or obscuring elements.
- Long pages: Pages with unusually large dimensions are useful tests for clipping, missing sections, or capture failures. The available documentation does not establish a universal maximum page height across these options.
- Motion and delayed rendering: Animation, asynchronous content, and consent interfaces can change what appears at capture time. Compare wait and motion controls where offered, and use a consistent capture point.
How the alternatives differ from Browserless
Browserless: a useful baseline
Browserless documents a REST POST /screenshot endpoint that accepts a URL or inline HTML and returns an image. Its screenshot options include Puppeteer-style fullPage: true. For lazy-loaded content, its documentation describes scrolling the page before capture with scrollPage: true. This gives you a baseline for comparing an HTTP screenshot endpoint with alternatives that expose their own capture and scrolling controls.

ScreenshotOne: automatic scrolling and capture controls
ScreenshotOne documents that full_page=true enables full-page capture and automatically enables scrolling unless that behavior is overridden. Its documentation also describes section-based capture and controls for viewport, scrolling, motion, and waiting. These options are useful if the default result needs adjustment, but more quality-oriented rendering work can affect performance; the documentation also notes that some pages may still fail to render.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Urlbox: stitch versus native mode
Urlbox documents two approaches for full-page capture. Stitch mode is oriented toward accuracy; native mode is oriented toward speed, with the caveat that native capture may not work well on every site. Its default behavior scrolls to expose lazy content. Rather than assuming one mode is best, compare both on the same pages and check the complete output.
Percy: an option when the goal is visual testing
BrowserStack Percy documents full-page screenshots in its Automate workflow for pages that require multiple scrolls. That makes it relevant when the screenshot is part of visual testing. The documentation described here does not position Percy as a direct replacement for a simple one-request screenshot API, so evaluate it against your testing workflow rather than API convenience alone.

A practical way to compare capture results
- Choose representative pages. Include a typical page, a long page with lazy images, and a page with sticky elements or animated content if those occur in production.
- Use equivalent capture conditions. Keep the target URL, viewport, and intended wait point as consistent as each service allows. Record whether scrolling is enabled and which full-page mode is used.
- Inspect the whole result. Look for absent lazy content, clipped sections, repeated sticky elements, unexpected overlays, and differences near section boundaries.
- Repeat captures when timing matters. Asynchronous content may appear at different times. A single image cannot establish consistency or reliability.
- Compare operational fit. Consider the API or workflow you need, available capture controls, and how failures are surfaced. The cited product documentation does not provide a like-for-like independent benchmark or a universal speed or reliability ranking.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL in one GET request and returns a screenshot or PDF. Its full-page capture loads lazy images. Before capture, it accepts the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response includes X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
Example using cURL (see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
For a full-page capture, use the API’s full-page option documented in the API reference. ScreenshotNeo has a free plan with 1,000 screenshots per month and no card required; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card.

Costs, performance, and reliability
The available documentation supports comparing features and workflows, not a price ranking or independently measured performance result. In particular, it does not establish that any provider is universally fastest or most reliable. ScreenshotOne notes that quality-oriented tuning can affect performance; Urlbox describes a speed-versus-accuracy distinction between native and stitch modes. These are trade-offs to validate against your own pages, not benchmark results.
For cost, compare the current plans and billing terms directly with each provider before choosing; no comparable pricing figures are established here for Browserless, ScreenshotOne, Urlbox, or Percy. ScreenshotNeo’s plan amounts and monthly allowances are stated in the callout above.

Troubleshooting missing or incorrect page content
Lazy images or sections are missing
Confirm that the capture scrolls the page before taking the screenshot. Browserless documents scrollPage: true; ScreenshotOne enables scrolling automatically with full_page=true unless overridden; Urlbox’s default full-page behavior scrolls to expose lazy content. Try a representative page again and inspect whether the missing content appears after scrolling.
A full-page image clips or distorts parts of the page
Compare the available capture methods and their settings. Urlbox documents stitch and native modes, with different accuracy and speed priorities, and warns that native may not suit every site. Check sticky elements and section boundaries in the resulting image rather than treating the full-page flag as proof that the output is correct.
Content is absent even though scrolling is enabled
Check whether the page needs additional time or a different wait condition before capture. ScreenshotOne documents wait-behavior controls; its documentation also warns that some pages may fail to render. For a page that depends on animation or asynchronous loading, repeat with consistent timing and compare the result.

Captures vary between attempts
First check whether page content changes asynchronously or animates. Keep viewport and wait conditions consistent, then compare repeated captures. The available documentation does not establish a provider-wide reliability rate, so observed results on your own pages are the relevant evidence for your use case.

Does full-page capture automatically load lazy-loaded images?
Not necessarily. It depends on whether the capture workflow scrolls the page or otherwise triggers the lazy content before taking the image.
Is BrowserStack Percy a direct screenshot API replacement?
It is documented here as a full-page screenshot option within Percy Automate’s visual-testing workflow, rather than as a direct one-request screenshot API.
