There is no Logitech-published EQ curve or ideal Game/Chat ratio for every Astro A50 X setup. Start with the headset selected as your audio device, make small preference-led EQ changes in G HUB, and adjust the on-ear Game/Chat balance while listening to both game audio and a real voice call. For a choppy or unclear microphone, check Noise Gate first.
Before changing A50 X audio settings
First confirm that the headset is connected to the platform you intend to use and selected in that system’s audio settings and the relevant game or chat app. The Astro A50 X uses a base station and Logitech G’s PLAYSYNC switching across Xbox, PS5, and PC/Mac. Logitech lists USB-C for PC/Mac and direct HDMI 2.1 console connections for the advertised passthrough path. Logitech G’s A50 X product page describes 4K 120 Hz passthrough for Xbox Series X|S and PS5; check your regional product page for connection and bundle details, since the listing says the HDMI cable is sold separately.
- Connect the base station to the intended platform using the connection appropriate for that platform.
- Select the A50 X as the output and, where applicable, microphone input in the system and game or voice-chat app.
- Open Logitech G HUB and select the A50 X. G HUB supports the headset and lets you customize Logitech G devices, but Logitech’s reviewed material does not prescribe one universal EQ. Logitech G HUB information
- Play representative game audio and join a real voice call before judging changes. Keep listening volume comfortable and note your original settings so you can restore them.
Best Astro A50 X EQ: adjust by ear, not by a supposed universal curve
Logitech confirms G HUB customization, but its reviewed A50 X product and support material does not publish slider values or an official preset for footsteps, FPS games, music, or streaming. Treat any EQ values found elsewhere as someone’s preference, not a Logitech recommendation. The suggestions below are general starting advice, not product-tested settings.
Make controlled EQ changes
- Begin with the current profile and change only a small amount at a time.
- Use familiar sounds from the games and other audio you actually listen to; a change that makes one effect more noticeable may make other sounds less natural or comfortable.
- Compare at a similar, comfortable listening level. Louder can seem more impressive without being clearer.
- Keep a copy or note of the original profile so you can revert if the change does not help.
Choose settings based on the outcome you want—more noticeable game detail, comfortable general listening, or a sound that suits your own preference—not on a claim that one curve is best for every A50 X user.

Astro A50 X Game/Chat mix: balance voices against gameplay
The A50 X has on-ear Game/Chat mixing for Xbox, PC, and PS5, according to Logitech G. Use the control to change what you hear: move the balance toward chat when teammates are difficult to understand; move it toward game when voices overpower gameplay.
- Start with the mix centered as a neutral place to begin—not a claimed factory default or Logitech-recommended setting.
- Play game audio and have a teammate speak at the same time.
- Make a small adjustment toward the sound that needs more prominence, then listen again before changing it further.
There is no source-backed ideal numerical ratio. The useful setting depends on the game, the voice call, and how clearly you need to hear each.

Astro A50 X mic settings: diagnose choppy or unclear voice
If other people say your microphone cuts out, sounds choppy, or is unclear, check Noise Gate before inventing a gain or EQ target. Logitech Support says an overly aggressive Noise Gate can cause choppy or unclear mic audio and recommends turning Noise Gate off in G HUB or G Mobile when diagnosing that symptom. Logitech Support’s A50 X microphone guidance
- In G HUB or G Mobile, turn Noise Gate off and test the microphone in the same call or game where the problem occurred.
- If the problem persists, connect the headset directly to the PC or game system rather than through a USB hub or docking station, then test again.
- If the microphone still sounds wrong, check Logitech’s current support and software information for your platform and headset firmware.
Logitech publishes a 16-bit, 48 kHz LIGHTSPEED microphone uplink specification for the A50 X. That is a manufacturer specification, not a recommended mic setting or an independent measure of how the microphone sounds. The reviewed official sources do not establish a best numeric mic gain, Noise Gate threshold, or microphone EQ curve.

When to check A50 X firmware and platform setup
Logitech’s release notes say A50 X firmware 1.1.26 fixed degraded microphone quality on certain systems, improved HDMI compatibility with certain monitors, and fixed Xbox Game/Voice balance reporting. These are targeted fixes, not a guarantee that every microphone, display, or balance issue is resolved. If one of those specific problems persists, check Logitech’s current support and firmware information rather than assuming the headset has the fix installed. Logitech A50 X release notes
For console video, the product page describes direct HDMI 2.1 connections and 4K 120 Hz passthrough for Xbox Series X|S and PS5; PC/Mac is listed as USB-C. Confirm that your actual connection matches the platform you are using before troubleshooting audio or display behavior. A50 X connection details from Logitech G
