Assassin’s Creed Heredis is a live stage production, not a video game. Ubisoft has scheduled its world premiere in Montreal for December 3, 2026, with Paris performances beginning January 21, 2027. If you’re waiting for the show, these Assassin’s Creed games offer different ways to spend the time, from city stealth to pirate exploration.
Choose a game by the experience you want
| Game | Best for | What you’ll get |
|---|---|---|
| Assassin’s Creed Mirage | Historical-city stealth and assassination | Basim’s story in ninth-century Baghdad, with a focus that Ubisoft positions between RPG-style play and earlier series gameplay. |
| Assassin’s Creed Shadows | Feudal Japan, stealth, and contrasting combat | Play as Naoe, a shinobi assassin, or Yasuke, a combat-focused samurai, across towns, ports, shrines, and countryside. |
| Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced | Pirate exploration and naval combat | Return to the Caribbean as Edward Kenway for naval combat, sword fighting, and a pirate-to-Assassin story. Ubisoft says it released July 9, 2026. |
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: for a focused city-and-stealth experience
Choose Mirage if what you want most is the familiar assassin fantasy: moving through a historic city, using stealth, and planning assassinations. Ubisoft describes the game as Basim’s story in ninth-century Baghdad. It is the closest fit among these picks for someone looking for historical-city stealth rather than a broader pirate adventure or a choice between two distinct combat styles.
Ubisoft lists Mirage for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Amazon Luna. Check the store for your platform and edition before buying, since availability can vary.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: for feudal Japan and two different approaches
Shadows is the pick if its feudal-Japan setting appeals, or if you want to alternate between stealth and direct combat. Naoe is a shinobi assassin who uses stealth, tools, parkour, and a hidden blade; Yasuke is a samurai built around combat. The world spans settings including towns, ports, shrines, and countryside.

Want a different historical era?
Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed chronology is a useful starting point if you want to choose by period. It places the original game in the Third Crusade, Assassin’s Creed II in the Italian Renaissance, Unity in Revolutionary Paris, and Syndicate in Victorian London. Later entries broaden the series into other eras and styles. Use the chronology to narrow down a setting, then check the game’s current platform listing before you commit.

Ubisoft’s franchise update treats Heredis as a stage production, separate from its in-development games. It describes Codename HEXE as a darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience and Codename INVICTUS as a PvP multiplayer project; neither is Heredis. Ubisoft says HEXE remains under development and that it will share more when ready.
