Yes—but the July 2024 changes did not affect every 75GB plan or customer in the same way. MobileSyrup reported on July 31, 2024, that Bell raised one 75GB plan from $70 to $75 per month while leaving its $65 bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) plan unchanged. TELUS had several 75GB plan prices, with eligibility and autopay determining the rate. These are historical prices, not current offers.
What changed at Bell?
In its July 31, 2024 report, MobileSyrup said Bell had raised one of its two 75GB plan options by $5 per month, from $70 to $75. The $65-per-month plan for BYOP customers was unchanged.
The increase applied to the $70 option; MobileSyrup said that plan retained its listed service terms:
- 75GB of 5G data at speeds up to 250Mbps
- Unlimited data use after the 75GB allowance, at speeds up to 256Kbps
- Video streaming capped at 480p
- Unlimited Canada-wide calling and international texting
“Unlimited” after the high-speed allowance did not mean continued high-speed data: the listed maximum was 256Kbps.

How much were TELUS’s 75GB plans?
MobileSyrup listed three TELUS 5G Essential 75GB variants on July 31, 2024. The autopay-adjusted prices were $5 below the respective listed monthly prices.

Earlier in July, TELUS had listed 75GB plans at $60 and $70, but MobileSyrup said the $60 option was restricted to new activations. The lowest advertised price therefore was not available to every customer.

When did the changes take effect?
MobileSyrup placed Bell’s change between July 29 and July 31, 2024, and said TELUS began making changes around July 22. The report did not establish an exact effective date for either carrier, so those ranges should not be treated as confirmed launch dates.

The same report noted a separate TELUS talk-and-text plan change from $35 to $40 per month, while the $35 price remained available with autopay. That was separate from the 75GB plan pricing.
