Notebookcheck’s 2022 review found only a marginal CPU improvement, alongside useful expansion options and trade-offs including pulsing fan noise, a single USB-C port, Gigabit Ethernet and no Thunderbolt. Its results and launch-era prices are historical, not a guide to current availability or value.
What the Beelink GTR6 is
The GTR6 reviewed by Notebookcheck pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX with integrated Radeon 680M graphics. The processor has 8 cores and 16 threads. Notebookcheck’s test unit also had 32 GB of Kingston DDR5-4800 memory across two SODIMMs and a 512 GB Kingston KC3000 NVMe SSD. Beelink may use different suppliers, so a unit with the same model name could contain equivalent but different memory or storage.
CNX Software’s October 2022 specification report describes two DDR5-4800 SODIMM sockets, with support up to 64 GB, and two M.2 2280 storage sockets: one for NVMe and one for SATA III. Notebookcheck’s tested configuration and servicing observations are stronger evidence for its individual sample; check the exact unit and manufacturer guidance before buying upgrade parts.
How much better is it than the GTR5?
Graphics are the meaningful upgrade
The GTR6’s Radeon 680M is the clearest reason to choose it over the GTR5. Notebookcheck reviewer Allen Ngo concluded in 2022: “The main advantage of choosing the Beelink GTR6 over the GTR5 is for its significantly improved integrated graphics.” That is a comparison within the review’s context, not a claim that the GTR6 matches a modern PC with a discrete graphics card.

Notebookcheck’s game results show why performance should be judged by title, resolution and settings. In Dota 2 Reborn, its GTR6 sample averaged 43 fps at 1920×1080 Low and 22.3 fps at 1920×1080 High. These are review results from 2022; performance in other games or on different drivers and settings can differ. The GTR6 can suit some local gaming and GPU-heavy tasks for an integrated GPU of its generation, but the figures do not establish that it is a good fit for current demanding games.
CPU gains are modest
Notebookcheck described the Ryzen 9 6900HX’s CPU improvement over the GTR5’s Ryzen 9 5900HX as marginal in its tests. In the publication’s Cinebench R15 Multi Loop comparison, the GTR6 averaged 1,922 points and the GTR5 averaged 1,938 points. These scores are results from Notebookcheck’s reviewed samples, not guaranteed performance for every unit or workload.

Noise, ports and networking
Fan behavior
Notebookcheck’s main usability complaint was that its review sample’s fan pulsed at idle or under light workloads, seemingly without a clear reason. This is a reviewer observation under its test conditions, rather than proof that every GTR6 behaves the same way.
Display and peripheral connections
Notebookcheck lists four HDMI 2.1 outputs and a front USB-C port with DisplayPort on its test machine. The single USB-C port may limit users who depend on USB-C accessories or a dock, and the system has no Thunderbolt. Check the port arrangement against your monitor and peripheral needs rather than assuming every display connection is interchangeable.

Wired and wireless networking
The reviewed machine has 1 Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Notebookcheck reported that its Wi-Fi module took several minutes to detect a 6 GHz network, even after the then-current driver update. That is a sample-specific observation, not an established fault across all GTR6 units.

Notebookcheck found that the case could be opened for service. After removing the bottom and an additional plate, its reviewer accessed two memory slots, two M.2 slots, the BIOS battery and WLAN module. The early CNX Software report gives a 64 GB ceiling for the two DDR5-4800 SODIMMs; a Beelink forum support response also cites 64 GB (2 × 32 GB). Confirm compatibility for your exact unit with Beelink before ordering memory.

The storage sockets are not interchangeable in interface: one M.2 2280 socket supports PCIe 4.0 NVMe, while the other is SATA III. Verify which interface an SSD uses and which slot is available in your machine before purchasing. The cited sources do not establish whether opening the case affects warranty coverage.
Price and buying context
Notebookcheck reported launch-era prices of about $750 for its configured GTR6 and $540 for a barebones version in 2022. These are historical figures, not current price guidance. Current retail availability, live configurations and today’s value relative to newer mini PCs have not been established.
