Beazley Security went live on June 25, 2024, launching a portfolio that includes managed extended detection and response (MXDR), professional services, incident response, forensics, and restoration. Its MXDR is described by the company as a 24/7 managed service for detecting, investigating, and containing threats. The key distinction for buyers: standard MXDR includes containment, but not necessarily full incident response or remediation.

What Beazley Security launched

Beazley said it formed Beazley Security by combining its in-house cyber services team with Lodestone, its wholly owned cybersecurity company. The launch announcement described the new organization as live on June 25, 2024, with services spanning proactive security and preparedness as well as response and recovery. At launch, the company said it had staff and clients in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and Singapore; that is a launch-period footprint, not a statement of its current reach. Beazley’s launch announcement

Beazley’s Global Head of Cyber Risks, Paul Bantick, said the company’s experience managing thousands of cyber incidents led it to believe organizations with integrated risk-management services can build resilience and respond more effectively. That is Beazley’s stated view, not an independently established causal finding.

What is Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR)?

MXDR is a managed security service in which a provider monitors security signals, investigates potential threats, and takes agreed actions to contain them. Beazley Security describes its offering as fully managed and available 24/7. Its current product page says analysts review validated findings, using raw telemetry behind alerts and AI-assisted context analysis. These are vendor descriptions; public sources do not provide independent tests of detection quality, containment speed, or comparative performance. Beazley Security MXDR

What does Beazley say it monitors?

The company describes telemetry coverage across endpoints, identity, cloud, email, network, mobile, and SaaS environments. Its October 27, 2025 announcement reported native support for more than 180 systems and data sources at that time, alongside AI detection enhancements during 2025. The 180-plus figure is a company-reported, dated claim, not an independently audited integration count. Beazley Security’s October 2025 announcement

How long does Beazley Security MXDR retain security data?

Beazley’s product page says the service retains up to 90 days of raw endpoint detection and response (EDR) telemetry by default. That stated retention period applies to raw EDR telemetry; the page does not establish the same period for every other data type.

What’s the difference between MXDR and EDR?

EDR focuses on detecting and responding to threats on endpoints. MXDR, as Beazley describes it, extends managed detection and response across a broader set of connected environments and includes analyst-led investigation and containment. The specific telemetry sources available to a customer depend on integrations and the agreed service scope.

How VERACIS fits into the service

Beazley announced VERACIS on August 1, 2024, describing it as a centralized client-engagement platform and the service-delivery engine for MXDR. The announcement said customers could use the portal to view cases, incidents, alerts, suspicious activity, investigative work, and recommended next steps, and to contact analysts. Its initial XDR integration was described as correlating information across endpoint, network, cloud, SaaS, email, and identity systems. Beazley’s VERACIS announcement

VERACIS is therefore the customer-facing visibility and engagement layer, while the MXDR service provides monitoring, investigation, and response work. Beazley CEO Alton Kizziah called that visibility a competitive differentiator; this was an executive statement, not independently verified customer feedback.

Does MXDR include full incident response and remediation?

Not automatically. Beazley’s current FAQ says standard MXDR includes threat detection, investigation, and expert containment actions such as endpoint isolation. Full-scale incident response and remediation are outside the standard offering unless added under separate service agreements or retainers; some packages may bundle incident response. Before signing, ask the provider to put operational boundaries in writing:

  • Which containment actions are authorized, and who approves them?
  • What service hours and response-time commitments apply?
  • Who carries out recovery and remediation after containment?
  • Is incident response included in the quoted package, available through a retainer, or billed separately?

Pricing, insurance, and details to confirm

Beazley says MXDR pricing is based on endpoint count and allows unlimited data ingestion. The product page does not publish a numeric price or contract minimum. It also does not provide a detailed service-level agreement, complete eligibility criteria, or independent benchmark results. Buyers should request a written quote and confirm included telemetry, service levels, retention terms, and any response or remediation costs. Beazley says retainer pricing depends on scope and SLA terms.

The company says MXDR customers may be eligible for a discount on Beazley cyber-insurance premiums and advises customers to ask their broker. It does not publish discount amounts or eligibility rules, so a discount is not guaranteed. Beazley also says Beazley Security operates independently from Beazley Insurance and that MXDR data is not shared with the insurance organization.
