The Beats 360 is an unusual over-ear headphone: its IPX4 sweat-and-splash resistance and interchangeable cushions make it more workout-friendly than most ANC headphones, while noise cancellation can take the edge off steady gym or travel hum. At $349.99 in the US on Beats’ product page as of October 4, 2026, it makes the most sense if you want that combination. Choose Bose or Sony instead if top-tier noise cancellation is your priority, and consider another model if you need wired audio.
Is the Beats 360 good for working out?
Beats lists the 360 for activities including working out and running, and gives it an IPX4 rating. That means it is designed to resist sweat and water splashing from any direction—not immersion or swimming. The rating is useful protection for sweaty sessions, but it does not make the headphones waterproof. Beats’ product page also highlights the adjustable fit, removable cushions and physical controls.
The workout case rests on the combination of that splash resistance and the supplied Performance Knit cushions, which Beats describes as breathable. In SoundGuys’ 12-day review of a company-provided unit, reviewer Brady Snyder found those cushions more comfortable and better at handling moisture than the alternative. That is a reviewer’s wearing impression, not a durability test or a guarantee that the fit will suit every person. SoundGuys’ review also notes that ANC pressure and the tighter-sealing cushion may bother some listeners.
Which Beats 360 cushions should you use?
| Cushion | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Performance Knit | Workout use and breathability | SoundGuys found it more comfortable and better at wicking moisture, but its looser seal provided less help to ANC than UltraPlush. |
| UltraPlush | A tighter seal and stronger noise isolation | SoundGuys found it improved ANC, but the tighter seal and ANC pressure may feel uncomfortable to some people. |
The headphones come with color-matched Performance Knit cushions. Beats sells additional cushion kits separately; changing cushions is a way to adjust the feel and seal, not a guarantee of a particular cancellation result on every head. Beats identifies Performance Knit and UltraPlush as its two cushion options.

How well does Beats 360 noise cancellation work?
Its ANC is useful, but its performance depends on the noise. SoundGuys reports that it can reduce steady sounds such as air-conditioning or cabin hum, while voices and higher-frequency sounds—including surf—remain more noticeable. Tom’s Guide reviewer Kate Kozuch likewise describes the cancellation as strong against gym sounds, but says Bose and Sony alternatives do better for some ANC use cases. Those reviews offer listening impressions, not a controlled comparison across headphones.
Beats claims the 360 provides up to 1.75 times more total noise cancellation than the Studio Pro. That is Beats’ manufacturer comparison, not an independently established result that applies equally to every sound, setting or listener. SoundGuys said its laboratory ANC measurements were still in progress when its review was published, so its account should not be treated as a completed comparative lab result. Tom’s Guide’s review and SoundGuys’ review both describe meaningful limits alongside the benefits.

How do the sound, battery and connections hold up?
Sound changes with listening mode
SoundGuys reports that the sound balance changes with the selected mode. With ANC or Transparency active, bass can crowd quieter details in a mix; with both modes off, Adaptive EQ is active. If you care about how a particular track sounds, try the modes and cushions you expect to use rather than assuming the headphones have one fixed presentation.
Battery and fast charging
Beats rates the 360 for up to 32 hours of listening with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. Its Fast Fuel claim is up to one hour of playback after five minutes of charging. These are manufacturer-rated maximums, not results from an independent battery test; actual use can vary. Beats lists both figures on its product page.

Bluetooth and wired audio
Beats lists Bluetooth 5.3, Apple and Android support, and ecosystem features including Apple Find My and Android Find Hub. The official specification calls USB-C a charging port. SoundGuys also reports that USB-C is for charging only and that the headphones lack both a 3.5 mm jack and USB audio. Tom’s Guide’s page is inconsistent on USB-C audio, so do not buy the 360 expecting a wired listening connection unless Beats clarifies otherwise.

Who should buy the Beats 360?
Consider it if you want over-ear ANC for commuting and travel but also value sweat resistance and cushions you can swap for a more breathable workout feel or a tighter seal. It is a less compelling choice if you need wired audio, find sealed over-ear headphones uncomfortable during exercise, or want the strongest possible ANC for voices and higher-frequency noise. At its listed US price, the 360’s case depends on whether its workout-focused design matters as much to you as its everyday noise reduction.
