Barracuda CEO Rohit Ghai says the company is accelerating its effort to offer MSPs a more integrated cybersecurity platform, rather than a collection of separate products. The strategy is aimed at organizations with limited security resources and at service providers that want to spend less effort connecting tools and more time on customers’ security outcomes. Those are Barracuda’s goals and Ghai’s account—not independently measured proof of integration quality or improved security.

What Ghai means by a “true platform”

In a February 10, 2026 interview with CRN, Ghai distinguished a platform from a set of products sold under one commercial umbrella. His version of a platform involves capabilities working together and sharing context, so an operator can respond across security areas rather than manage disconnected tools.

He framed that distinction as especially relevant to MSPs, which may otherwise have to connect and configure products from different vendors. “MSPs have a choice. They can go to best-of-breed solutions, but then they have to stitch those together—and then they’re not focused on security outcomes.” The quote captures Ghai’s argument for integration; the interview does not provide comparative tests showing how much work Barracuda’s approach saves.

Why Barracuda is prioritizing MSPs

Ghai describes Barracuda’s target customers as organizations that lack dedicated security expertise or large security teams. That includes small businesses, but he says the need can also extend to organizations larger than the small-business category. In his view, these customers are more inclined to consume cybersecurity as a managed service, making MSPs central to Barracuda’s growth strategy.

Ghai calls MSPs Barracuda’s fastest-growing segment, but gives no growth rate, measurement period, or underlying data in the interview. He says the company is increasing investment in the channel so partners can concentrate on security outcomes instead of stitching together siloed products. He also characterized Barracuda as “not just partner-first, but partner-only.”

What BarracudaOne is meant to bring together

Ghai describes Barracuda’s coverage as spanning email, network, data, applications, and managed XDR. BarracudaOne is intended to bring solutions together for easier configuration and management. The interview presents this as the company’s product direction; it does not independently establish how deeply those capabilities share data, how workflows operate across them, or what security results customers achieve.

A later September 23, 2026 interview with Tech Talks Daily adds Ghai’s perspective on tool and agent sprawl. He argues that meaningful platform integration should reach the data layer. That is useful context for his definition, but remains an executive’s characterization rather than an independent assessment of Barracuda’s implementation.

PSA integrations and the MSP workflow

Ghai names Datto, ConnectWise, and HaloPSA as integrations intended to help MSPs address ticketing challenges. CRN’s article opening says six PSA offerings were integrated, but the interview’s quoted examples name only these three. It does not identify the other three, so the full list cannot be established from the interview.

For an MSP evaluating the proposition, a named integration is a starting point, not proof of operational fit. The interview does not detail the integrations’ capabilities, setup requirements, or how they handle multi-customer administration. Those specifics matter when determining whether a connection reduces ticketing friction or simply adds another tool to manage.

What the AI assistant does—and what is still planned

Ghai describes the BarracudaOne assistant as a conversational interface for threat intelligence and interaction with the system. He presents agentic incident remediation as the next phase of development, not as a generally available capability. The interview does not specify its availability, level of autonomy, human approval controls, or remediation scope.

That distinction matters for security teams: conversational assistance and automated incident action carry different operational implications. The interview describes a current assistant concept and a future direction, but does not provide enough detail to assess the latter’s controls or readiness.

What Ghai said about the FY27 partner changes

Ghai described a planned FY27 partner transformation that includes a portal, on-demand training, enablement, and incentives for partners who help sell across the platform. He did not state finalized enrollment rules, commission rates, referral terms, or other settled commercial conditions. His comments therefore point to planned channel investment, not a confirmed public affiliate or referral offer.

What the interview establishes—and what it does not

The interview is a company-executive account of Barracuda’s strategy. It supplies no independent comparative testing, customer outcome data, security efficacy measurements, pricing, or complete integration inventory. Ghai said the platform strategy is “being received very well” and that “It’s resonating in the marketplace”; that is his assessment, not a customer survey or market statistic. Barracuda’s republication of the interview confirms the company’s framing but is not independent validation.

For MSPs considering a platform strategy, the useful evaluation questions are practical: whether products share data and support cross-product workflows, how multi-customer administration works, which PSA tasks are actually supported, what remains outside the platform, and what controls govern any AI-assisted action. The interview outlines Barracuda’s aims and names some components, but does not answer those implementation and outcome questions.
