Await is a screen-free digital compact camera with a film-style 24-photo roll workflow and an optional service that mails prints. It does not force users to print every roll: automatic printing is one reported choice, alongside selecting images manually or keeping photos digital. As of Digital Camera World’s report on October 1, 2026, Await was an upcoming Kickstarter product, not a camera with confirmed general retail availability.
What is the Await camera?
Await is described as a digital camera designed to make taking pictures feel more like shooting film. It has no conventional screen for reviewing photos. Instead, a small OLED display reportedly shows basic information such as battery life and remaining shots.
Digital Camera World reports an 8MP 1/3.2-inch sensor, a 26mm-equivalent lens, and a built-in film-inspired filter. The camera is also described as having a semi-transparent body with 1990s-inspired styling and a magnetic, swappable faceplate. These are reported specifications and design details, not independently tested findings. Digital Camera World’s October 1, 2026 report is the source for the product details and prices below.
Is Await really credit-card-sized?
Not exactly. The reported dimensions are 98 × 68 × 55 mm (3.86 × 2.68 × 0.59 inches). Digital Camera World says the brand describes it as around 44 percent larger than a credit card, so “nearly as small” is a comparison rather than a claim that it matches a card’s footprint or thickness.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How do the digital rolls work?
Await reportedly stores up to three rolls internally, with 24 images in each roll. Photos cannot be viewed one at a time as they are taken: the user must complete all 24 shots in a roll and develop it through the app before viewing the images.
Images are reported to transfer to a mobile app over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or USB-C. The report also mentions a desktop-computer shortcut, but does not detail how that process works. The roll restriction is central to the experience: it discourages immediate checking and editing, while still making the pictures digital rather than exposing film.

Does Await print every roll automatically?
No. “Prints every roll” refers to an automatic-printing option, not a mandatory charge attached to every roll. The reported choices are:
- Automatic printing: opt in to have each roll printed.
- Manual selection: choose which images to print.
- Digital only: keep the photos digital and avoid print charges.
Digital Camera World says printed photos are 6 × 4 inches and arrive in monthly packs. Its October 1, 2026 report gives US prices of about $8.99 per automatically printed roll or $9.99 for manually selected photos. It does not say whether either price recurs on a subscription schedule, and international print pricing was not announced in the report.

What to consider before choosing Await
- Review delay: you reportedly cannot see a roll’s photos until all 24 shots are taken and the roll is developed in the app.
- Optional print spending: automatic printing is convenient, but it adds a reported per-roll cost in the US; manual selection and digital-only use are alternatives.
- Unverified product details: the sensor, lens, dimensions, workflow, prices, and launch timing here come from one publication’s report, not an independent test or confirmed maker specification.
- Delivery uncertainty: a crowdfunding pledge and expected shipping date are not the same as a completed retail purchase with a guaranteed delivery date.
