Pocket Gamer’s Avalar: Shadow War tier list, updated September 6, 2025, places A’lzena, Kivaris, Aurora, Lythienne, D’Lynx, Lednaigrael, Radolf, E’teresa, Catherine, and William in S tier. Use it as a dated starting point—not a verified 2026 ranking: later store updates are listed, but the available sources do not establish how subsequent balance changes may have affected hero strength.
How to use this Avalar tier list
The rankings below reflect Pocket Gamer’s September 6, 2025 guide, not an independently tested or confirmed current meta. Treat tiers as a way to prioritize candidates, then account for your squad’s roles, elemental matchups, ability synergies, and investment. The guide says a squad can include up to four characters, and that hero level and elemental advantage affect stage performance. It also notes that some Epic heroes can be useful alongside Legendary heroes, so rarity alone is not its sole measure.
Avalar is presented in the official Google Play listing as a team-based action RPG with characters who have distinct skills and elemental powers. The listing says heroes can be strengthened by upgrading skills, talents, and equipment. Google Play’s Avalar: Shadow War listing gives the game’s description and platform information.

What the tiers mean for squad building
S tier: strong candidates, not automatic picks
Pocket Gamer identifies ten S-tier heroes. Its examples include A’lzena, a Wind Mage described as dealing area damage and reducing Wind resistance; Kivaris, a Lightning Lancer described as a burst-damage melee option; and Lednaigrael, a Lightning Mage said to pair well with Kivaris. These are the guide’s assessments, not independently verified performance results.
A tier: consider the setup they need
The guide places Brynmor, E’edithymia, Cissy, Cecil, Ashenfall, L’empusano, Melina, and Sejoan in A tier. It describes E’edithymia as a Wind healer. Cissy is an Ice Swordsman who can apply Chill, but the guide says she benefits from Freeze support. Sejoan is a Fire Archer whose damage setup can benefit from Fire resistance reduction.
Rank #2

- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)

B tier: evaluate specific utility and encounter fit
Kaleb, Eleanor, Winora, Victor de Zoro, L’nysse, Brad, and E’dilya are listed in B tier. The guide describes Kaleb as a Lightning damage dealer with energy generation and attack reduction, Winora as a team healer whose effectiveness varies with enemy count, and Brad as a Warrior who can shield the team. These role details may matter more to a particular team than the tier label alone.
C tier: be cautious about major investment
Ysneira, Jarvin, Leanne, and Aelric are in C tier. Pocket Gamer advises against prioritizing these picks because, in its account of the game, resetting investment is not viable. That recommendation belongs to the dated guide; check the game’s current systems before committing scarce resources.
Rank #3

Build around roles, elements, and synergy
With only four squad slots, compare candidates by what they contribute together rather than selecting four heroes solely because they have the highest listed tiers. The official listing’s guidance is to choose characters that complement each other. Practical examples from Pocket Gamer’s guide include pairing Kivaris with Lednaigrael, supporting Cissy with Freeze, and using Fire resistance reduction alongside Sejoan. They are examples of synergies, not universal team prescriptions.
- Check the stage’s elemental matchup. The guide says elemental advantages or disadvantages affect stage performance, so a strong hero may not be the best answer to every encounter.
- Balance the squad’s jobs. Consider damage, healing, protection, and useful effects such as resistance reduction or attack reduction when choosing up to four characters.
- Account for levels and upgrades. The guide says hero level matters; the official listing also identifies skill, talent, and equipment upgrades as ways to strengthen heroes.
- Judge the build you can actually field. The guide says some Epic heroes can work alongside Legendary heroes depending on build and level. A developed, synergistic option may be more useful to your account than an underdeveloped higher-rarity pick.
Is this the current 2026 Avalar meta?
