In HotHardware’s February 19, 2025 tests, the standard ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti came close to the RTX 4080 in 3DMark Speed Way and Unigine VR Future, but fell farther behind in Steel Nomad. Against the RTX 4070 Ti, it led by nearly 30% in Speed Way, about 17% in Steel Nomad and about 20% in Unigine VR Future. These are results from specific synthetic tests, not a current ranking or a substitute for game benchmarks.

What this review page tests

This page of HotHardware’s review covers synthetic graphics and VR benchmarks, rather than gaming performance at different resolutions. HotHardware’s Marco Chiappetta reported the results on February 19, 2025; the comparisons below describe that review’s workloads and should not be generalized to every game or GPU task. Read HotHardware’s benchmark page. Gaming results are covered on the review’s main page and subsequent gaming section.

How the card performed in each benchmark

3DMark Speed Way

Speed Way uses DirectX 12 Ultimate and ray tracing. HotHardware found the ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti close to the RTX 4080 in this test and nearly 30% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti. The review also described stable clocks and relatively modest temperatures during the run, without publishing numeric clock or temperature readings in the page text.

3DMark Steel Nomad

Steel Nomad is a DirectX 12 test without ray tracing, so its result does not simply repeat the Speed Way comparison. Here, HotHardware reported a wider gap between the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 4080. The RTX 5070 Ti remained about 17% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti, while the Radeon RX 7900 XTX finished well ahead of it.

Unigine Superposition VR Future

In VR Future, HotHardware described the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 4080 as neck-and-neck, with the RTX 4080 slightly ahead. The review put the RTX 5070 Ti about 20% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti and about twice as fast as the RTX 3070 Ti in this specific test.

UL VRMark Blue Room

HotHardware said the cards finished in familiar relative positions: the RTX 5070 Ti clearly outperformed older “70” cards but did not catch the RTX 4080 or higher-end models. The page text does not provide a percentage comparison for this test.

How to interpret the comparisons

  • Workload matters: Speed Way’s ray tracing, Steel Nomad’s non-ray-traced rendering and the two VR benchmarks exercise different parts of graphics performance. Their results are not interchangeable.
  • The percentages are review comparisons: Nearly 30%, about 17%, about 20% and about 2× are HotHardware’s prose comparisons for the specific test and reference card named above. They are not independent calculations or general performance guarantees.
  • Chart values are not stated here: HotHardware’s accessible page text does not transcribe the charts’ numeric scores. The percentages above are the review’s written comparisons; no scores should be inferred from chart images.
  • These are historical synthetic results: Published in February 2025, they help compare the cards in those workloads but do not establish today’s market ranking, current prices or availability.

Which ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti did HotHardware test?

The review identifies the standard ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti, model PRIME-RTX5070TI-16G. ASUS lists it with 16GB of GDDR7, 8,960 CUDA cores, 28 Gbps memory and a 256-bit memory interface. Its listed default boost clock is 2,452 MHz, with an OC-mode clock of 2,482 MHz. See ASUS’s standard-model specifications.

Do not confuse it with the separate PRIME-RTX5070TI-O16G OC Edition. ASUS lists that model’s default boost at 2,497 MHz and OC-mode clock at 2,527 MHz. Those clocks belong to the OC Edition, not the standard card reviewed here; see ASUS’s OC Edition specifications.

Fit and power requirements to check

ASUS specifies the standard card at 304 × 126 × 50 mm, with a 2.5-slot design, one 16-pin power connector and a recommended 750 W PSU. ASUS qualifies the wattage recommendation as guidance for a fully overclocked GPU and CPU system configuration, not a universal minimum for every build. Check the complete system’s power needs and the PSU’s available connector and cable before installation.

Measure your case’s GPU length and thickness clearance, and allow for airflow around the card. ASUS describes this model as SFF-ready and lists triple Axial-tech fans, Dual BIOS, a phase-change thermal pad and fan-stop operation below 50°C, with fans restarting above 55°C. Those are manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not independent measurements from HotHardware’s benchmark page. More information is available on ASUS’s product overview.
