HotHardware’s August 29, 2006 review says the model 03-L-7004 kit included a CPU block, a chipset block and a graphics-card block. Their socket and mounting details describe the hardware of that period—not compatibility guidance for a modern build.
What waterblocks came with the WaterChill Xternal?
HotHardware’s review identifies three blocks: an Antarctica CPU01 for the processor, an NB01/P1 for the chipset and a VGA01/P1 for the graphics processor. The external unit could not cool those components without blocks and tubing connecting them to the system.
CPU: Antarctica CPU01
The bundled CPU block was copper-based and used a twist-screw mount. HotHardware reports support for AMD Socket 754, 939 and 940, and Intel Socket 478; the kit included an adapter for Socket 775. These are period-specific compatibility claims from the 2006 review. On the reviewer’s Socket 939 system, installation required removing the motherboard.
The review attributes a 200 W handling-capacity claim to Asetek. That is a vendor claim reported in the review, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee of performance in a particular system.

Chipset: NB01/P1
The copper chipset block mounted through the motherboard with screws. That arrangement could conflict with boards that used different mounting hardware. The reviewer says the block could be omitted if it did not fit.
A separate chipset block would not address motherboard heatpipe assemblies that cool chipset and voltage-regulator (VRM) areas together. The review’s note concerns the hardware arrangements of its era; it does not establish suitability for any current motherboard.

Graphics: VGA01/P1
The VGA01/P1 cooled the graphics processing unit (GPU), not the graphics-card memory. It had angled hose connections and occupied two case slots when installed, according to the review. The reviewer noted the absence of memory heatsinks, but that observation is not a recommendation for fitting this block to a present-day graphics card.
How did the blocks connect to the external unit?
The blocks used 3/8-inch tubing. HotHardware’s main review lists the tubing’s outer diameter as 10 mm (3/8 inch), and its waterblock page says the kit included a three-meter hose for the installer to cut to length. The review describes the kit’s parts and specifications; it does not verify the condition of tubing or fittings on a surviving unit.

The review says additional waterblocks could be added, but each extra component lowers flow and adds heat that the radiator and fans must dissipate. Adding blocks was therefore not a cost-free way to cool more parts.

The waterblock details belong to the Asetek WaterChill Xternal, model 03-L-7004, as reviewed in 2006. A HotHardware archive entry from 2011 says the WaterChill cooler line was reintroduced, but that does not establish that this Xternal model remained available. Current listings, replacement-block supply and compatibility with modern processors, motherboards or graphics cards have not been established.

For historical identification, the named blocks and 3/8-inch tubing help describe the kit. They should not be treated as evidence that a block will fit a particular machine today.
