It recorded a 61°C CPU temperature with an overclocked Intel QX6700 and a 75°C overclocked GPU temperature, but those results belong to the review’s period hardware—not today’s CPUs or graphics cards. The reviewer also said the original system was not available through ordinary retail stores or online.
What the 2007 review tested
Fudzilla’s review, published on 23 November 2007, covered Asetek’s Low Cost Liquid Cooling system, or LCLC. The test results are useful as a historical record of that hardware and setup; they are not directly comparable with modern components unless the test conditions are also comparable.
| Test detail | What the review reported |
|---|---|
| CPU test | Intel QX6700, running at its 2.6 GHz stock clock and overclocked to 3.4 GHz; reported processor temperature under overclock was 61°C. |
| Graphics result | An overclocked GPU at 618/1836 MHz reached 75°C. |
| Comparison test | Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 Extreme on an EVGA 680i motherboard, compared at stock and overclocked clocks with Intel’s reference cooler. The reviewer said the CPU temperature changed little with overclocking and the graphics card temperature increased only slightly. |
| GPU during CPU testing | The review reported a GPU temperature of 55°C during CPU testing and said the LCLC graphics block ran at least 10°C cooler than Nvidia 8800 GTX stock cooling in its comparison. |
The review does not establish that these temperatures will recur on other systems. Ambient temperature, workload, case airflow, component samples and measurement method all matter when comparing cooling results; the figures should remain attached to the named 2007 test hardware.
How the system performed in use
The reviewer described the LCLC as simple to mount because it arrived pre-assembled. In that particular test rig, Intel’s stock cooler was noisy at maximum RPM, while the LCLC was described as the quietest component. These are observations from the review, not standardized noise measurements or a guarantee about the sound of every surviving unit.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The system was designed as a closed-loop platform that could be configured for one CPU, a CPU plus a graphics card, or two CPUs. That flexibility helps explain why it was aimed at system builders rather than only individual CPU-cooler buyers.
Why Asetek positioned LCLC for OEM systems
Asetek’s 2013 prospectus says the company released its first LCLC for commercial sale in 2007, building on technology originally developed and patented in 2003. The stated aim was to meet cooling needs in higher-end consumer PCs and workstations.

In a 19 March 2008 company post, Asetek described OEM liquid cooling as needing to operate for five to seven years without problems such as evaporation, noise, pump failure, performance loss or leaks. The same post said a tested LCLC performed about as well as a 1/2-inch-tubing enthusiast retail kit priced at $250, while acknowledging that it could not outperform every retail-grade system on raw cooling performance. Those are Asetek’s historical statements, not an independent modern comparison or a claim that every unit will last that long.
The Fudzilla review said the product was difficult to find in retail stores or online and was intended for OEMs and ODMs integrating cooling into high-end gaming PCs, professional workstations and HTPCs. It also mentioned possible uses in consoles, projectors, projection TVs and lamps; those examples describe potential applications, not evidence that the LCLC was broadly sold in those products.

Related Asetek models documented in the datasheet
Asetek’s liquid-cooler datasheet identifies a family of related models. The model names and positioning can help identify an old listing, but the documentation does not establish present-day availability or compatibility.
| Model | Positioning in datasheet | Documented details |
|---|---|---|
| 510LC | Mainstream | Aluminum cold plate, integrated pump, 120 × 120 × 27 mm heat exchanger and stated 50,000-hour product life. |
| 550LC | Performance | Copper cold plate, integrated pump, 120 × 120 × 27 mm heat exchanger and stated 50,000-hour product life. |
| 570LC | Premium | Positioning is stated; other specifications are not stated in the cited datasheet information. |
| 570LX | Extreme | Positioning is stated; other specifications are not stated in the cited datasheet information. |
| 545LC | mATX performance | Positioning is stated; other specifications are not stated in the cited datasheet information. |
The 50,000-hour figure is a stated product-life specification for the documented 510LC and 550LC, not evidence of the remaining life of a used cooler, a current warranty, or an assurance that a particular pump is still functional.

Can you still buy an Asetek LCLC?
The 2007 review says the original LCLC was not available through normal retail stores or online and was marketed primarily to OEM and ODM integrators. The available historical material does not establish current stock, authorized sellers, socket support, warranty coverage or replacement-part availability. A search such as “Asetek 550LC liquid CPU cooler” may help identify a model, but each listing needs its own verification; a current AIO that uses an Asetek-derived pump should not automatically be treated as the same product.

What to check before considering an old unit
- Compatibility: Confirm the CPU socket, mounting hardware and radiator clearance for the exact unit. Check whether a graphics-card block is included if you need GPU cooling.
- Condition and support: Establish whether it is new or used, how old the pump is, whether the unit has been stored or operated, and whether a warranty or replacement parts are actually available.
- Thermal evidence: Compare results only with tests on similar hardware and under similar ambient conditions. The QX6700 and 8800 GTX results from 2007 do not predict temperatures on a current platform.
- Noise and power: The review’s appeal included low noise as well as cooling. Seek evidence for the particular unit rather than assuming a decades-old cooler will match the sound profile reported in the test.
- Market source: Verify the seller, model identity and return terms; historical OEM-oriented availability does not prove that an online listing is genuine or supported.
