Yes: AstroLab 2.0 adds on-keyboard Sound Edit pages that let you shape selected instrument parameters with the four macro knobs. Arturia lists controls for areas such as envelopes, filter, and glide, but does not describe the update as full access to every instrument’s software editing interface. The firmware also adds sampled instruments and workflow improvements.
What AstroLab 2.0 changes
Sound Edit puts instrument parameters on the keyboard’s front panel instead of requiring a computer for every adjustment. Select an instrument, open the relevant edit page, and use the four macro knobs to change the parameters Arturia has made available for it. Dedicated pages include envelopes, filter, glide, and other controls. The available controls depend on the instrument: Arturia describes access to each instrument’s key parameters, not unrestricted editing of every plug-in parameter. Arturia’s AstroLab 2.0 feature page describes the update.
This makes the preset-led stage keyboard more hands-on for sound shaping, but it does not replace deeper computer-based editing. AstroLab can run by itself or alongside Analog Lab. Arturia describes the keyboard’s built-in Analog Lab as containing more than 30 instruments and hundreds of presets; the companion app manages presets, transfers sounds, edits parameters assigned to AstroLab’s eight encoders, and prepares playlists. For deeper patch creation, Arturia’s software workflow uses Pigments or V Collection through Analog Lab’s interactive instrument views, where users can edit sounds in depth, assign macros, and add patches to AstroLab’s library. New instruments and performance changes
Arturia says the update adds more than 60 new sounds, including an acoustic piano made with eight velocity layers, funk and orchestral brass, pop strings, and upright and electric basses. The company also lists sampler polyphony and refinements to Analog Lab linking and the update workflow among the improvements. These are Arturia’s stated features; no independent performance testing is established here. Arturia’s update page has the feature list.

Which AstroLab models are covered
Arturia’s resources listing identifies firmware 2.0.0, with a listed download size of 7.87 GB, for AstroLab 37, AstroLab 61, and AstroLab 88. The same listing gives October 1, 2026 as the firmware date. Arturia lists an English manual version 2.0.0 dated October 6, 2026 for AstroLab 37 and 61. How to install the firmware
Arturia’s standard update process uses the latest Analog Lab in standalone mode and a USB connection between the keyboard and computer. The 7.87 GB figure is the firmware listing; Arturia separately recommends at least 20 GB of free space on the computer’s main disk to download and extract the update. Allow the process to finish without interrupting it. Arturia’s AstroLab update procedure also documents a manual update-from-file route.

- Install or update Analog Lab through Arturia Software Center, then open Analog Lab in standalone mode.
- Connect AstroLab to the computer over USB.
- Link AstroLab from Analog Lab to start the normal update process, and follow the on-screen instructions until it completes. If using a downloaded update file instead, follow Arturia’s manual update-from-file instructions.
Compatibility and storage details to check
Instrument behavior is not necessarily identical across presets or models. Arturia warns that some compatible presets may have reduced or different polyphony, and some sound banks may not be fully compatible. Its FAQ provides instrument-specific polyphony tables; consult those rather than assuming every instrument has the same voice count. Arturia reports 22.8 GB of available storage for presets and samples, while noting that future updates may change the available amount. Arturia’s AstroLab FAQ includes the compatibility details.
Expression and sustain pedals are optional, not requirements for Sound Edit. Arturia’s listed compatible expression pedals include Moog EP-3, M-Audio EX-P, Thomann Lead Foot LFX-1, Nektar NX-P, and Roland EV-5.
