For controls, Steam offers keyboard and mouse plus controller support; mobile offers touch and controller support. There is no official Steam-versus-mobile performance benchmark establishing which runs faster, lasts longer on battery, or stays cooler.

The Steam details below should be read in context: the PC requirements and access information come from a limited-access Pioneer Test notice, not a guarantee of current general-release availability or a universal performance target.
Will your account progress carry over between Steam and mobile?
Yes, if you link Steam to the Gryphline Account that holds your character and select the same server. The official Arknights: Endfield Steam Pioneer Test FAQ, published September 15, 2026, says: “The Steam version uses the same game servers and account data as the other platforms.” That applies across platforms on the same server; it does not mean progress can be moved between server regions.
Link Steam to an existing account
- When you first sign in on Steam, choose the option to link a Gryphline Account.
- Sign in with the Gryphline Account that already contains your character. If you use a third-party login for that account, first make sure an email address is linked to it.
- If the account has no email attached, use the account center with your original third-party login to attach an unused email, then complete the Steam linking process with that email.
- After linking, select the server on which your existing character is saved.
A Gryphline Account registered through Steam can also be used on other supported platforms with its registration email.

Server selection is the limit
Asia and Americas / Europe server data are separate, even when accessed through the same account. Linking platforms does not merge those characters or transfer progress between the server groups. If your character appears to be missing after linking, check that you selected its original server before assuming the account link failed.
What controls can you use?
Steam: keyboard and mouse or controller
On PC, you can use keyboard and mouse or a supported controller. The current-version controller FAQ, dated January 20, 2026, lists PlayStation DualSense, DualSense Edge, DUALSHOCK 4, Xbox Wireless Controller, and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller support on PC and mobile. It documents wired USB and Bluetooth connections for devices that support them, while warning that third-party controllers may have compatibility issues. An Xbox Wireless Controller is one optional choice if you prefer playing with a controller; the FAQ confirms support but does not establish a particular retailer, price, or performance advantage.

Mobile: touch or controller
Mobile supports touch controls and controller mode. The official release-preview communication also describes improvements to mobile top-view operation, belt construction, and bulk pipe operations in the AIC factory. These are interface and feature notes, not evidence that mobile controls are better or worse overall.
How input switching works
At login, controller input automatically changes the interface to the controller layout. During most gameplay, pressing a controller button prompts a switch to controller input; keyboard input or tapping the screen can prompt a switch back. The FAQ identifies operator selection or naming, tutorials, character dialogue or story cutscenes, and certain battle scenes or simulations as situations where switching the input layout is unavailable. Text entry uses a keyboard on PC and the system on-screen keyboard on mobile or PlayStation.

Controller feature differences by connection
- PlayStation controllers away from PS5: The FAQ recommends a wired connection for full DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DUALSHOCK 4 functionality. Over Bluetooth, adaptive triggers work, but vibration and the controller speaker do not.
- Xbox controllers on PC: Official Xbox controllers support full functionality over Bluetooth or a wired connection.
- Xbox controllers on mobile: Over Bluetooth, vibration and impulse triggers are not supported.
You can toggle vibration and adaptive triggers under Settings → Controls.
Performance: what is documented, and what is not
There is not enough official comparative evidence to declare Steam or mobile the faster or more efficient version. The sources reviewed do not provide controlled cross-platform FPS, battery-life, thermal, or loading-time measurements. Performance depends on the device and the settings you choose.

Steam PC requirements in the Pioneer Test notice
Gryphline’s September 15, 2026 Steam Pioneer Test notice lists the following PC specifications. They describe that limited-access test and should not be treated as a current general-release requirement or as a promise of a particular frame rate.

PC graphics options and mobile considerations
The official release-preview communication documents a 120 FPS option for PC. That is a selectable setting, not a measured average or a guarantee that a particular PC will sustain 120 FPS. It also describes NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation for supported hardware, ray tracing in specific scenes on certain iOS devices, and a platform-dependent Device Load or Estimated GPU Memory Usage preview in Settings. Availability and behavior depend on supported hardware and platform.

If NVIDIA App optimization makes the PC image blurry or stutter
A February 7, 2026 NVIDIA troubleshooting notice says NVIDIA App optimization may cause blurry graphics or stuttering on some NVIDIA-equipped PCs. It suggests reverting the app’s optimization, adjusting DLSS Super Resolution, trying TAAU or render scale, and lowering graphics settings to suit the device. This is a specific reported troubleshooting case, not a general indication that NVIDIA hardware performs poorly.

- Choose Steam if you prefer keyboard and mouse, want to play on a compatible Windows PC, or want the documented PC graphics options.
- Choose mobile if playing on a portable device and using touch controls suits you better, or if you prefer controller input on mobile.
- Use both if you want to switch platforms while keeping the same character: link the same Gryphline Account and select the same server on each.
The evidence supports comparing controls, account linking, and listed features—not declaring one platform universally better for frame rate, battery, heat, or loading time.
