A possible revival of the first two inFamous games for PS5 was reported in May 2026, but it remains an uncorroborated rumor—not a Sony announcement or a confirmed release. The report suggested remakes of the original PS3 titles; it did not establish a date, technical details, or that the games are available to buy for PS5.
Which PS3 games are rumored for PS5?
The action-adventure games at the center of the report are the first two inFamous titles, originally released for PS3. PlayStation LifeStyle reported on May 16, 2026, that Video Games Chronicles journalist Jordan Middler had said a source told him an inFamous revival was in the works, with remakes of those games implied. The report also stressed that the claim was not corroborated and that plans could have changed.
That is second-hand reporting, not confirmation from Sony or a developer. The report did not establish a release date, edition, technical scope, or confirmed platform lineup beyond its PS5 framing. It also said Sucker Punch—the original games’ developer—reportedly was not involved in the possible project; that detail, too, is unconfirmed.
Are inFamous 1 and 2 coming to PS5?
There is no confirmed release to point to in the cited report. It describes a rumor that the games may be revived or remade, not a finished announcement. The same report said that inFamous: Second Son was the only inFamous game PS5 players could then purchase. It did not say the first two games had become purchasable PS5 remakes.

- Vertical Stand sold seperately
For now, treat any claimed preorder, release date, or detailed feature list for these rumored remakes as unverified unless Sony or the responsible publisher announces it. The available reporting does not resolve whether Sony has confirmed the rumor since the May 2026 article.
Is Sony remaking the first two inFamous games?
No official Sony confirmation is established by the report. The wording matters: Middler reportedly relayed what a source had told him, and the report said he cautioned that “things could have changed.” That makes this a rumor about a possible revival, with remakes implied—not proof that Sony has approved, funded, or scheduled remakes.

Nor does the report establish what “remake” would mean in practice. It gives no confirmed information about updated visuals, gameplay changes, added content, pricing, or whether both games would launch together.
What confirmed PS5 rebuild offers a useful comparison?
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced is a separate, officially announced example of an older action-adventure being rebuilt for current PlayStation hardware. In a PlayStation Blog article, Ubisoft technical staff said the original Black Flag first appeared on PS3 and PS4 and described Resynced as rebuilt for PS5 and PS5 Pro. The article said it would launch July 9, 2026; because that date has passed, consult a current listing for availability rather than treating the old announcement as proof of its present sale status. - 🚀 Storage: Custom 825GB SSD
- 🚀 RAM: 16GB GDDR6

That announcement is evidence for Black Flag Resynced only. It does not corroborate the inFamous rumor, and a confirmed rebuild of one older game does not make another rumored project official.

The separate Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops II reports concern first-person shooters, not action-adventure games, so they are not evidence for the inFamous claim.

That follow-up called them ports, not remasters, and said release timing and DLC details were not confirmed at publication. The June 9 report and the June 18 follow-up cover that separate story.
