Arduino Cloud’s April 3, 2026 update adds a platform-wide dark theme, a Trash area for restoring certain deleted items, and a redesigned Thing Page that brings several common controls together. Arduino said the features were live in production when it announced them.
What changed in Arduino Cloud
The update focuses on three interface changes: theme options, recovery for selected deleted resources, and a consolidated page for managing a Thing. Arduino describes the changes in its April 3, 2026 announcement. Hackster.io also reported the release as a temporary holding area for deleted items and a way to undo deletions.
Dark theme across the platform
Arduino says dark theme is available across the home page, dashboards, Cloud Editor, Things, Devices, and Triggers. Light mode remains the default. Users can synchronize the theme with their operating-system settings or toggle it manually; the announcement does not identify which operating systems support synchronization.
The announcement establishes the available theme choices, but does not report measured accessibility, battery-life, or visual-performance effects.

Trash for restoring selected deleted items
Trash can restore deleted Dashboards, Things, Triggers, and Sketches. Arduino Team’s announcement says, “You can now restore deleted dashboards, Things, triggers and sketches from your Trash”.
Arduino did not specify how long items remain in Trash or provide feature-specific limits on deletion or recovery. Treat Trash as a recovery option for the listed resource types, not as a guaranteed backup or permanent archive.

A rebuilt Thing Page
The redesigned Thing Page brings device association, Cloud Editor access, Trigger setup, and management of elements connected to a Thing into one place. Arduino’s stated goal is to reduce the need to navigate among separate pages. That is the company’s description of the design; the announcement provides no measured usability results.

Arduino said the features were live in production when announced and invited users to try them in Arduino Cloud. Hackster.io reported that registered users on both the free tier and paid plans could access the update at the time of its report. That is a report of availability then, not a guarantee about later plan terms or access conditions.
