Choose ARC Raiders if you want extraction runs built around scavenging, PvPvE danger, and getting loot home safely. Choose THE FINALS if you want team-based arena matches focused on objectives and combat. They are different shooter formats: THE FINALS is not an extraction shooter, though its Cashout mode gives teams a clear objective to fight over.
How the two games play
| What you’re choosing | ARC Raiders | THE FINALS |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Online extraction adventure | Free-to-play team arena shooter |
| Main goal | Scavenge on the surface, contend with ARC machines and rival Raiders, then try to extract safely with your loot. | Fight as a team in arena modes. In Cashout, unlock a vault, deposit its Cashbox, and defend the Cashout Station until its timer ends. |
| Group play | PlayStation’s listing says you can play solo or in teams of two or three. Solo is still online multiplayer, not an offline campaign. | Described by Embark as team play in virtual arenas; the cited official pages do not specify a solo campaign. |
| Cost and purchase model | PlayStation’s US PS5 Standard Edition listing showed $39.99 when accessed October 7, 2026. Price is store- and region-specific. | Free-to-play on listed platforms, with optional purchases described by Embark as cosmetic. |
| Platforms established by cited official pages | PlayStation 5 listing. The cited material does not establish full platform parity. | Steam (PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, according to Embark Support. |
Choose ARC Raiders for extraction and loot risk
ARC Raiders is the better fit if the appeal is making a run into a dangerous area, gathering resources, and deciding whether to keep pushing or leave with what you have. Its loop combines environmental threats from ARC machines with the possibility of encountering other Raiders. The objective is not simply to win a firefight; you are trying to return safely with the loot you scavenged. PlayStation’s ARC Raiders listing describes this extraction setup.
It can suit a solo player or a small group: PlayStation says players can go alone or in teams of two or three. But solo describes how many players are in your group, not an offline mode. ARC Raiders remains an online multiplayer game.
Choose THE FINALS for team arena objectives
THE FINALS centers on team combat in changeable, destructible virtual arenas. Embark describes it as a free-to-play shooter in which teammates fight in arenas they can alter, exploit, and destroy. That makes the match objective and the fight over it—not carrying scavenged loot out of a run—the defining structure. Embark’s project page provides the studio’s description.

Cashout and other modes
In Cashout, teams unlock a vault, take its Cashbox to a Cashout Station, and defend that station through a timer. THE FINALS’ official modes page also lists Point Break, Team Deathmatch, and Power Shift, so Cashout is not the only format available. See the official game modes page for the mode descriptions.
What will it cost to try?
THE FINALS has the lower upfront cost: Embark Support describes it as free-to-play and says optional purchases are cosmetic. Its listed platforms are Steam (PC), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. See Embark Support’s free-to-play and platform details.
