Apple has not confirmed an October 13 launch. According to Bloomberg reporting cited by MacRumors, the company plans to introduce a smart-home hub on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with Siri AI expected to be a key feature. The date and product details remain unconfirmed by Apple in the materials reviewed.
When might Apple announce its smart-home display?
The reported date is October 13, 2026. MacRumors, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, says Apple plans to unveil a smart-home hub that day, alongside an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV. Those are separate products, not versions of the display. MacRumors’ September 30 report and a separate 9to5Mac account of the Bloomberg report describe the same planned date.
Apple’s reviewed materials do not confirm an event or reveal on that date. Treat October 13 as a reported plan, not a confirmed Apple announcement.
What is the rumored device?
Reports describe a display-equipped smart-home hub combining a screen, speaker and Siri AI. The concept appears intended to put voice assistance and control of connected home devices in one place. Apple’s Home app provides official context for its existing smart-home software, but the page does not confirm this rumored hardware.

Screen size and design are unsettled
Reporting does not agree on the screen size: 9to5Mac’s September 30 account says 6 inches, while earlier reporting summarized by MacRumors describes an approximately 7-inch display. Neither figure is an established specification. The design has also been reported in tabletop and wall-mounted forms, with an iMac G4-inspired look mentioned in the later account; Apple has not confirmed the design or whether both mounting options will ship.
“HomePad” is a convenient label used by 9to5Mac, not a confirmed Apple product name.

Features reported as possibilities
Earlier reporting summarized by MacRumors has mentioned FaceTime, home-security monitoring, HomeKit accessory management, photo galleries, calendar, music playback and intercom functions. These are reported possibilities, not a verified feature list. Siri AI is expected to be central to the device according to the reports, but Apple has not confirmed how it will work on this product.
