The Apple A19 and MediaTek Dimensity 9500 are flagship phone platforms, but the available figures do not establish a fair, controlled winner. MediaTek publishes a detailed Dimensity specification sheet; Apple’s cited iPhone 17 page confirms the A19 phone but does not give comparable chip details. Geekbench’s live chart shows different results across phones, while higher Dimensity launch figures were supplied by MediaTek. Compare the specific phones you can buy—not just their chip names.
At a glance: what the published evidence shows
| Comparison | Dimensity 9500 | Apple A19 |
|---|---|---|
| Phone examples | vivo X300 Pro, Oppo Find X9 Pro, Oppo Find X9 | iPhone 17 |
| CPU information in cited official material | Eight cores: 1 Arm C1-Ultra, 3 C1-Premium, 4 C1-Pro | The cited Apple page does not state the A19 CPU core layout |
| Published benchmark evidence | Geekbench live-chart results vary by phone; MediaTek also supplied launch-event scores reported in 2025 | Geekbench live-chart iPhone 17 entry and a separate 2025 comparison result |
The specifications in this table are not equally comprehensive: MediaTek’s page lists chip-level details, while Apple’s cited page is for the iPhone 17. A missing A19 specification here does not mean the A19 lacks that feature; it means the cited material does not establish a comparable value.
Dimensity 9500 specifications
CPU and cache
MediaTek specifies an eight-core design with one Arm C1-Ultra core, three C1-Premium cores, and four C1-Pro cores. It lists 16 MB of L3 cache and 10 MB of system-level cache (SLC). These are vendor-published specifications, not independent measurements of speed.
Memory, storage, and graphics
MediaTek lists LPDDR5X-10667 memory, four-lane UFS 4.1 storage, and Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 graphics. These platform specifications do not, by themselves, show how quickly a particular phone transfers files or performs in games; phone design and software also matter.

AI, connectivity, and imaging
The Dimensity 9500 includes MediaTek’s NPU 990. MediaTek also describes generative and agentic AI capabilities, but those are vendor claims rather than a directly comparable independent A19 assessment. Its published feature list includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, 5G, and camera and video support including 4K120 recording with electronic image stabilization. Availability and implementation of features can depend on the phone model and region.
What is established about Apple A19
Apple identifies the iPhone 17 as an A19 phone. The cited official iPhone specifications page does not provide the A19 CPU layout, cache, memory and storage details, GPU configuration, or a matching AI-feature specification. That prevents a complete spec-for-spec comparison using these sources. It would be misleading to fill those fields from inference or to treat the two vendors’ product pages as equivalent technical disclosures.

Geekbench’s live mobile chart
Geekbench’s live mobile chart, accessed in 2026, displayed these device-level scores:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems| Phone shown in chart | Processor | Single-core | Multi-core |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 17 | Apple A19 | 2,995 | 8,280 |
| vivo X300 Pro | Dimensity 9500 | 2,130 | 7,951 |
| Oppo Find X9 Pro | Dimensity 9500 | 1,070 | 5,588 |
| Oppo Find X9 | Dimensity 9500 | 1,002 | 5,406 |
These are entries for separate phones, not results from a matched test of the two chips under the same protocol and conditions. The spread among the three Dimensity 9500 entries is itself a reason not to assume one chart result represents every phone using that processor. See Geekbench’s mobile benchmark chart.

Separate 2025 launch-event comparison
A September 23, 2025 Beebom Gadgets comparison reported Geekbench 6 scores of 4,007 single-core and 11,217 multi-core for the Dimensity 9500, figures supplied by MediaTek at its launch announcement. It compared them with 3,608 single-core and 8,810 multi-core for the A19 in an iPhone 17. Beebom said it had not independently tested a consumer Dimensity 9500 phone at publication. Those launch figures are not interchangeable with the live chart entries above, and they do not establish a controlled consumer-device result. Read the Beebom Gadgets comparison for its source attribution.
Which chip looks faster?
There is no defensible single winner from these figures. In Geekbench’s 2026 live-chart examples, the iPhone 17 entry is higher than the listed Dimensity phones in both single-core and multi-core scores, but the chart does not establish a matched protocol across those models. In the separate 2025 launch comparison, MediaTek’s vendor-supplied Dimensity scores are higher than the A19 reference scores reported there. Combining those two sets into one percentage or ranking would obscure their different provenance and conditions.

The cited sources do not establish a matched independent comparison of sustained performance, gaming, power use, or energy efficiency. A brief benchmark score cannot answer how a specific phone behaves during long workloads or how long its battery lasts.

- Look for independent tests of the exact phone models, especially sustained workloads and games if those are priorities.
- Check the phone maker’s specifications for memory, storage, display, cooling, battery, and camera features; the chip-level lists alone do not establish the phone’s implementation.
- Confirm regional model differences and local availability. A processor’s published connectivity or imaging capabilities do not guarantee every handset enables every feature.
- For the A19, Apple lists the iPhone 17 as the relevant product. Dimensity 9500 examples in the Geekbench chart include vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 models; their benchmark entries should not be generalized to every phone with the chip.
