Amsterdam-founded cybersecurity company Hadrian announced a $40 million funding round on October 6, 2026. The company says it will use the capital to expand in EMEA and the United States and invest further in engineering and research. Its platform combines continuous external attack-surface mapping with on-demand, AI-powered penetration testing.

Who invested, and how much has Hadrian raised?

Forgepoint Capital International and SmartFin co-led the round. Existing investors HV Capital, Motive Partners, Picus Capital and Oetker Ventures also participated. Hadrian says the new financing brings its total funding to $65 million. Hadrian’s announcement does not disclose the round’s valuation or the amount invested by each participant.

The company says the proceeds will support expansion across EMEA and the United States, alongside additional investment in engineering and research. Forgepoint published its own rationale for backing the company, citing product maturity, validated findings and attack-surface coverage. Those are the investor’s assessments, not independent product-test results. Forgepoint’s investment post describes Hadrian as an AI-native offensive-security platform.

What does Hadrian do?

Founded in Amsterdam in 2021 by Rogier Fischer, Olivier Beg and Maurice Clin, Hadrian sells security software to medium and large enterprises. Fischer is the company’s co-founder and CEO. Hadrian identifies security operations teams and CISOs as its target users, particularly those handling asset inventories, alert validation and prioritization. The company’s founding information and company page provide those details.

Hadrian describes two products that share context: Atlas for ongoing visibility into an organization’s external attack surface, and Nova for deeper penetration testing when a team needs it.

Atlas: continuous external exposure mapping

Atlas is designed to continuously map an organization’s external attack surface and validate whether exposures are exploitable. The aim is to help security teams distinguish actionable risks from a broad inventory of assets and possible weaknesses.

Nova: on-demand penetration testing

Nova provides on-demand, agentic penetration testing. Hadrian says it can emulate attacker paths to investigate risk more deeply than continuous surface mapping alone. Because Atlas and Nova share context, the company says teams can move from broad visibility to more focused testing without restarting the discovery process. These are descriptions of Hadrian’s intended capabilities, not independent validation of their effectiveness. Hadrian’s product description outlines the relationship between the two tools.

How to interpret Hadrian’s performance and market figures

Figure What Hadrian says it represents Qualification
10x greater visibility into critical exposures Customer outcome Reported by Hadrian; no independent validation is provided in the announcement.
80% faster time to resolution Customer outcome Reported by Hadrian; no independent validation is provided in the announcement.
5x ROI compared with manual pentesting Customer outcome Reported by Hadrian; no independent validation is provided in the announcement.
87% of organizations still run manual penetration tests Market statistic Attributed to Hadrian; the announcement does not identify the underlying study or methodology.
More than 70% of security teams struggle to determine which exposures are exploitable Market statistic Attributed to Hadrian; the announcement does not identify the underlying study or methodology.
0.47% of vulnerability-scanner findings proved genuinely exploitable Market statistic Attributed to Hadrian; the announcement does not identify the underlying study or methodology.

These numbers should be read as the company’s rationale for its product and funding, not as a like-for-like comparison with other security tools. Hadrian’s announcement contains the figures but does not supply the supporting study details for its market statistics.

What the funding means for enterprise security teams

The announced round is a growth investment, not a product launch or a guarantee of a particular customer result. Hadrian says it plans to use the money to expand geographically and strengthen engineering and research. For potential buyers, the product proposition is a combination of breadth and depth: continuous external exposure discovery through Atlas, followed by on-demand testing through Nova.

Organizations evaluating that approach should assess whether the platform’s coverage matches their environment, how it validates exploitability, how findings fit existing security workflows, and whether the cadence suits their needs. Continuous discovery and periodic or on-demand penetration testing address different operational requirements; Hadrian presents its products as connected, but its claims should be assessed against an organization’s own evidence and evaluation criteria.
