AMD’s latest optional Radeon driver, Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2, adds support for several games and lists targeted bug fixes. AMD’s release notes, last updated September 29, 2026, do not confirm a new Adrenalin interface redesign. Check your exact graphics card and Windows version before installing; laptop and all-in-one owners should also consider their manufacturer’s driver.
What’s new in AMD Radeon Adrenalin 26.9.2?
AMD identifies Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 as an optional driver release. Its documented highlights are support for new and updated games and fixes for specific issues—not a stated redesign of the Adrenalin interface. See AMD’s 26.9.2 release notes for the complete list and any device-specific details.
New game support
The release notes list support for:
- Minecraft Dungeons II
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition 10th anniversary patch
- Gears of War: E-Day
- CONTROL Resonant
- Valor Mortis
Documented fixes
AMD reports fixes for the following issues:
- An intermittent driver timeout in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards.
- An intermittent driver timeout in War Thunder on Radeon RX 6000 Series cards when specified capture settings are in use.
- An incorrect Anti-Lag 2 status display after frame generation is disabled in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
- An intermittent timeout or freeze in HITMAN World of Assassination on Radeon RX 9000 Series cards.
These are targeted fixes, not a general performance guarantee. AMD’s notes provide no benchmark figure establishing a performance increase for 26.9.2.
Does Adrenalin 26.9.2 introduce a new UI?
That claim is not confirmed by AMD’s 26.9.2 release notes. AMD describes Adrenalin as an application for accessing software features, game statistics, and driver updates, and its product overview also lists game configuration and launching, AMD Chat, and media capture. Those are descriptions of application capabilities, not evidence that this release added or redesigned them. See AMD’s Adrenalin Edition overview.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
A secondary report connects a Home and Gaming tab redesign to the earlier Adrenalin 23.12.1 release. That history does not establish a UI change in 26.9.2. For the current version, rely on AMD’s release notes unless AMD publishes additional documentation confirming a redesign.
Check compatibility before installing
AMD lists Windows 10 64-bit version 21H2 and later, and Windows 11 version 21H2 and later, as supported platforms, subject to product-specific variation. The 26.9.2 page’s compatibility section also references version 26.8.1, so do not treat that section alone as definitive for a particular GPU. Verify the download offered for your exact graphics card and Windows installation.

AMD recommends its Auto-detect and Install Driver Update option and links installation and uninstall instructions from the release page. For step-by-step guidance, follow the instructions linked there rather than assuming every system uses identical installation choices.
Laptops, all-in-ones, and handhelds
- Laptop or all-in-one: AMD advises using the computer manufacturer’s OEM driver when system-specific features matter. A customized OEM package may better support features built for that particular system.
- Handheld gaming device: AMD says its Adrenalin package does not support handheld gaming devices.
Should you install this release?
Consider 26.9.2 if you want support for one of its listed games or if you are affected by one of its listed fixes, provided the offered package matches your GPU and Windows version. If your current system works as expected and you do not need those changes, the release notes do not establish a reason to update for a new UI or a promised performance boost.
