For an Amazon.com order in the United States, check the purchase in Your Orders and use the return-by date shown for that specific request. Don’t calculate a deadline from Prime Day or assume every item has the same return window.
How to check the return deadline for an Amazon Prime Day order
- Sign in to the Amazon account used to place the order and open Your Orders.
- Find the Prime Day purchase and select its return option. The available choices can depend on the item, seller, or reason for return.
- Review the item’s eligibility and follow the on-screen instructions. Amazon says most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, but exceptions apply; check the order rather than treating 30 days as a guarantee. See Amazon’s US Return Policy.
- After starting a return, find the return-by date in the confirmation email or in the Return Request tab in Order History. Complete the required drop-off or carrier pickup by that date.
Where to find the return-by date
Use the date attached to your return request, not a general estimate based on when you ordered or when Prime Day ended. Amazon directs customers to return the item before the date in the confirmation email or Return Request tab. Its US policy says a late fee may apply if drop-off or carrier pickup is not completed by that date: 20% of the item price during the first 30 days after the return-by date, and 100% afterward. Check the current terms on Amazon’s Return Policy.
Why Prime Day purchases may have different return windows
Amazon’s US policy says most items are returnable within 30 days of delivery, but eligibility and available return options can vary by item, seller, and reason. The policy does not establish a special extension that applies to Prime Day purchases as a group. Your order page and return request are the practical sources for the item’s eligibility and deadline.
