Rogers said on February 6, 2026, that Amazon Luna was available to all Rogers Xfinity customers in Canada. Luna began rolling out on select devices in late 2025. You can play streamed games without a separate console, but you still need a compatible Rogers Xfinity device, an Amazon account, an eligible membership, and suitable controls.
When did Amazon Luna become available on Rogers Xfinity?
Rogers announced Luna for its Xfinity platform on December 11, 2025. At that point, Rogers said the service was immediately available on Rogers Xfinity Streaming, with availability on more Rogers Xfinity Entertainment devices planned for the following year. On February 6, 2026, Rogers said Luna had started rolling out on select entertainment devices late in 2025 and was then available to all Rogers Xfinity customers. Rogers’ February announcement is the broader availability claim; the December announcement was not full availability across all customers.
Amazon identifies the Rogers Xfinity Stream Box as a Luna-supported device in Canada. Availability across Rogers customers does not mean every older or differently configured box supports the app; see the Shaw-specific device guidance below.
How do you get Luna on a Rogers Xfinity box?
- On your Rogers Xfinity device, say “Luna” into the voice remote, or find and open the Luna app.
- Sign in with your Amazon account and follow the prompts to link it.
- Choose an available game and start playing. Rogers says access is available to customers with Amazon Prime, Ubisoft+, or Luna Premium; its support guidance also specifies an Amazon account and one of those eligible options.
- Connect a compatible Bluetooth controller, or use a smartphone where the game supports phone controls.

Amazon describes Luna as running games on remote AWS servers and streaming their audio and video over the internet, so there is no game download or local console hardware required for the streamed games. Your Xfinity device and internet connection are still part of the setup.

Do you need a controller for Luna?
Not for every game. Amazon says Luna’s GameNight games use phones as controllers: scan the QR code displayed on the TV and use a phone to join and play. Other Luna games require a controller or a mouse and keyboard. Rogers also says customers can play using a major Bluetooth-enabled controller or a smartphone, though the right option depends on the game.
The Amazon Luna Controller is an optional accessory, not a requirement. Amazon says it is designed for cloud gaming and can switch between screens; its Canada launch material describes connections through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You can also check whether a controller you already own is compatible. Amazon lists Xbox, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers, and the Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller. Rogers’ support page lists Xbox third-generation controllers, PlayStation DualSense, Nintendo Switch Pro, the Luna Controller, and the Luna Phone Controller app. Rogers says Joy-Con controllers are not compatible in the support context described on that page. Compatibility can depend on the box and the way you play, so consult Rogers’ current support details for your device.

Which Rogers Xfinity boxes support Luna?
Rogers’ support page gives a specific hardware list for Shaw customers: Luna works with Xi6 and XiOne devices, but not XG1v3, XG1v4, or XiD. That restriction is scoped to Shaw customers and should not be assumed to describe every Rogers customer’s equipment. If you are unsure which box you have, check its model and Rogers’ support information for your service.
What games and memberships are included?
Rogers identifies Amazon Prime, Ubisoft+, and Luna Premium as its access options for Luna’s growing library. The exact catalog changes, and historical launch counts should not be treated as a current fixed total. In its December 11, 2025 launch release, Rogers described more than 100 cloud-based games for customers with Prime or Luna Premium and more than 50 titles for Prime members. Amazon’s overview, updated September 21, 2026, instead says Prime members receive access to more than 60 games and describes GameNight as an evolving collection of more than 45 casual local multiplayer games. Those are separate, dated descriptions from different sources and categories—not counts to add together. Check the current Luna catalog and the terms for your membership before choosing a subscription.

Amazon’s September 2026 overview lists Luna Standard as included with Prime, Luna Premium at $9.99 per month, Ubisoft+ at $17.99 per month, and Jackbox Games at $4.99 per month, while noting that prices may vary by territory. Those are not confirmed Canadian prices, so do not rely on them for a Canadian subscription decision. Rogers’ February 2026 announcement names Prime, Ubisoft+, and Luna Premium as access options; confirm current availability and Canadian pricing with the provider before subscribing.

- Move the router or hub to an open location and, if practical, closer to the TV.
- Try connecting the Xfinity device to the network with Ethernet.
- Consider a Wi-Fi extender if the wireless signal is weak where you play. This is a suggestion, not a guaranteed fix.
Amazon’s general Luna guidance recommends an internet speed of at least 10 Mbps for the best gaming experience. That is Amazon’s recommendation, not a Rogers-specific guarantee; speed alone does not establish latency or overall connection quality.
