For PvE, build around Overhead Slam and Rending Blow, then choose a third damage node such as Crushing Wave or Ruinous Blow according to your board route and progression. For PvP, prioritize access to targets and control—especially Leaping Slam and Mocking Blade—then add PvP damage, tolerance, and enough survivability to complete a dive. These are distinct setups, not one universal Gladiator loadout.
Build details are especially patch-sensitive at launch. The global-focused guide updated September 30, 2026, adapts Korean and Taiwanese material and says a Global PvP meta had not yet formed. Korean usage data is useful as a separate signal, not a confirmed Global Season 1 ranking.
What to prioritize in a Gladiator build
Gladiator is a melee greatsword damage dealer with area attacks, mobility, defensive tools, and some party utility. That makes it effective for farming and leveling, but its PvP damage depends on reaching opponents who can kite. AION 2 Meta also flags lower single-target burst than Assassin or Ranger. For practical build choices, start with the activity: PvE rewards sustained damage and boss stagger contribution; PvP rewards reliable target access, control, and the durability to stay in the fight.
The recommendations below come from guides built around different regional and version contexts. Power Up Gaming’s October 1 build provides distinct PvE and PvP Daevanion suggestions, while the September 30 global-focused guide describes early Global Season 1 progression using Korean and Taiwanese material. Check the board, level cap, and stigma slots in your own client rather than assuming that every regional build detail transfers directly.

Best Gladiator Daevanion build for PvE
Core damage nodes
Prioritize blue Daevanion nodes for Overhead Slam and Rending Blow as you progress. The Global Season 1 guide identifies these as central to Gladiator damage and recommends raising them before Ruinous Blow. That is a useful early progression order when points and unlocks are limited.
Power Up Gaming’s more developed PvE board suggestion names Rending Blow, Overhead Slam, and Crushing Wave. Treat Crushing Wave and Ruinous Blow as route-dependent alternatives rather than a contradiction to resolve with a single universal ranking: follow the nodes actually available on your board and the build context you are using.
Supporting choices and stats
Power Up Gaming adds Combat Speed and Attack on Nakiel, Damage Boost on Ezekiel, and boss damage as supporting priorities. Its suggested PvE stats are:

Its suggested stigma set is Assault/Lunge Stance, Rage Burst, Zikel’s Blessing, and Lifestealing Blade. For a party role that values stagger contribution, the guide says to use Zikel’s Blessing in place of Rage Burst. These are that guide’s recommendations, not a proven fixed Global Season 1 loadout.

Use movement skills such as Leaping Slam and Rush Strike to stay on the target. When the boss enters a stagger window, Power Up Gaming recommends using Mocking Blade and Overhead Slam in that window. This approach combines uptime with concentrated damage or party stagger value; adapt the timing to your group’s actual encounter and skill availability.
Best Gladiator Daevanion build for PvP
Close distance, control, then punish
In PvP, a damage node has limited value if an opponent can keep you at range. Build first for Leaping Slam and Mocking Blade as gap-closing and crowd-control tools. The Global Season 1 guide describes the Gladiator as a durable diver: close in, knock down a target, then punish with Overhead Slam. It recommends anti-control and stickiness before committing to burst when enemy defenses are down.
Rank #3
- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Power Up Gaming’s example sequence is:
- Leaping Slam to enter or close the gap.
- Mocking Blade to control the target.
- Rage Burst to set up the damage window.
- Overhead Slam to punish.
Use the sequence as a framework rather than an inflexible rotation: the guide’s key idea is to secure access and control before spending burst. For large group fights, it advises waiting out the opening crowd-control wave before diving, then using area damage and control to disrupt healers and punish a knocked-down target.
PvP node and stat priorities
Power Up Gaming recommends PvP Damage and Tolerance nodes on Azphel, alongside Accuracy and Resistance and Overhead Slam sustain nodes. Its suggested stats are Critical Hit, Combat Speed, Accuracy, PvP Damage Boost, HP, and CC Resist. The aim is a balance: enough damage to punish a controlled target, and enough resistance and health to survive long enough to land it.

Its data paragraph refers to 8,459 top-ranked Korean players; the stigma table’s activity samples are smaller:

These are AION 2 Meta’s Korean-player usage rates, not usage rates for Global Season 1 characters or a guaranteed best-in-slot list. The high-use set also differs from Power Up Gaming’s proposed stigma set; the differences do not by themselves establish that either recommendation is wrong, since version, mode, and build configuration may differ. See AION 2 Meta’s Gladiator guide and Korean data for the source context.

The global-focused guide updated September 30, 2026 describes four stigma slots, a level-20 stigma cap, and five Global Season 1 Daevanion boards. It identifies Nezekan (level 12), Zikel (20), Vaizel (30), and Triniel (40) as PvE-relevant early boards, and Azphel (45) as PvP-focused, with damage and tolerance nodes but no skill nodes. The guide itself says its build draws on Korea and Taiwan material and that a Global PvP meta had not yet formed.
A separate progression guide describes five stigma slots, level-25 upgrades after a July patch, and six boards including Ariel. Those differing rules appear to reflect separate client or game contexts. For a Global Season 1 build, use the global-focused guide’s description as the more relevant early-launch reference, but verify the live client before committing resources. Do not import a board or slot count from another regional context without checking that it exists in your version.

Choose between the builds
- Dungeon and boss damage: build around Overhead Slam and Rending Blow, then choose Crushing Wave or Ruinous Blow based on your board and progression.
- Farming and area damage: favor the PvE damage route while keeping mobility available to maintain uptime.
- Player-target control: prioritize Leaping Slam, Mocking Blade, and a punish window rather than treating a PvE damage setup as sufficient for PvP.
- Resource-limited progression: invest first in the core skills available on your unlocked board; adjust supporting nodes as your route and activity change.
- Version uncertainty: compare the actual client’s patch, cap, boards, and stigma slots with the guide context before treating any recommendation as transferable.
Power Up Gaming’s guide by Serhii Patskan describes Gladiator as “a greatsword hybrid Tank DPS class in AION 2, with strong AoE and Blood Absorption skills.” That is the guide author’s characterization, not a developer statement. Its separate build recommendations are available in the Power Up Gaming PvE and PvP build guide.
