What was AdventNet’s MSP monitoring software?
MSP Center Plus was an AdventNet-era product for managed service providers. ManageEngine’s September 4, 2008 announcement presented it as a single console for managing customer IT services and devices. The MSPAlliance release mirror dates the product announcement to September 2, 2008.
Its scope went well beyond monitoring. The announcement lists asset and power management, patch management, Windows configuration templates, network and Exchange monitoring, SLA management, helpdesk, timesheets, technician scheduling, and invoicing. Dev Anand, then MSP solutions manager at AdventNet, described the aim as helping providers “automate, standardize and control thousands of customer devices from a single console.” (ManageEngine announcement)
Was the trial really unlimited?
Not according to the located announcement. It says MSPAlliance members could use a fully functional 60-day trial. That is a time-limited offer for a specified membership group, not evidence of an unlimited-duration trial available to everyone. The headline’s “unlimited” wording is not substantiated by this announcement.

What can MSPs try from ManageEngine now?
ManageEngine announced MSP Central on June 24, 2025 as a unified platform for service delivery, device management, threat protection, and infrastructure monitoring. Its current trial page offers the full platform free for 30 days and lists ITSM, RMM, server monitoring, endpoint security, reporting and analytics, and billing. For a monitoring-centered deployment rather than a broader service-delivery suite, ManageEngine’s OpManager MSP download page advertises a 30-day free trial. It provides central and probe downloads for Windows and Linux and states capacity of up to 10K devices or 100K interfaces. Treat that as the published capacity ceiling, not a guarantee that every deployment will perform identically at that scale.

Which current option fits the need?
- Choose MSP Central to evaluate breadth: its listed capabilities combine service-management and monitoring functions with endpoint security and billing.
- Evaluate OpManager MSP for monitoring: it is the more focused choice when device and infrastructure monitoring is the main requirement; review the central/probe deployment details and published capacity on its download page.
- Do not treat MSP Center Plus’s old promotion as a current offer: the 60-day trial and pricing belong to the 2008 announcement.
