- Adjustment mechanism: A dial, selector, or other mechanism affects how you change loads between exercises. Consider whether it is clear and convenient for the way you train.

What the BowFlex Results Series 552 offers
BowFlex’s official product page describes the Results Series 552 as a pair with 15 weight selections, from 5 to 52.5 lb per dumbbell. Each dumbbell adjusts by dial and has a locking mechanism, a tray, and a non-slip grip. The listed dimensions are 16.9 × 8.3 × 9 inches per dumbbell, and BowFlex lists a two-year parts warranty. BowFlex says the design replaces 15 sets of weights; that is the manufacturer’s product claim, not an independent market finding. The compatible stand is a separate purchase, so factor it into storage and total cost if you want a dedicated stand. The manufacturer also warns that prices and offer availability may change. Its displayed offer should not be confused with an Amazon Prime Day price.

How to use the 552’s adjustment base
BowFlex’s owner manual gives specific instructions for handling the dumbbells in their base. Follow the manual for your model rather than forcing a dial or lifting the dumbbell at an angle.
- Set both adjustment knobs to the same selected weight before lifting.
- Lift the dumbbell vertically to remove it from the base.
- After use, align the dumbbell with its base and return it vertically.

What to know about fit and durability
Tom’s Guide advises against dropping adjustable dumbbells and notes that the 552 can feel wide for some movements. Those are observations from that publication, not testing conducted for this article; read its Tom’s Guide coverage for its context. If you do exercises where dumbbell width may affect your range of motion or positioning, consider the product’s dimensions and whether you can try the feel before committing.
