Will the ADATA SU720 fit your computer?
ADATA specifies the SU720 as a 2.5-inch drive measuring 100.45 × 69.85 × 7mm, with a SATA 6Gb/s (SATA III) interface. Those specifications make it a candidate for a computer that accepts a 2.5-inch SATA drive; they do not guarantee fit in every computer that currently has a hard drive. - Check the computer or motherboard documentation for supported drive size and SATA connections.
- Confirm whether the existing drive is 2.5-inch SATA. A desktop may use a larger 3.5-inch drive, while some laptops use other form factors or interfaces.
- Check whether installation requires a caddy, spacer, or different mounting hardware.
A SATA label alone does not confirm that the computer has the right physical bay or mounting arrangement. Without the computer’s model, compatibility cannot be confirmed.
What capacities and specifications does ADATA list?
The two ADATA datasheet editions do not list identical capacity ranges. The May 2020 edition lists 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB; the November 2020 edition also lists a 250GB model. Confirm the exact capacity and model available in your market rather than assuming every option is sold everywhere.

TBW means terabytes written, an endurance rating for the amount of data written over the drive’s rated life. These figures are ADATA specifications from the stated 2020 datasheet editions, not an estimate of how long a particular person’s drive will last.
How fast is the SU720?
ADATA advertises sequential performance of up to 520MB/s read and 450MB/s write. These are manufacturer maximums, not independent test results or guaranteed everyday speeds. ADATA says results can vary with capacity, test platform, software, operating system, and other system variables. The datasheets do not establish a specific boot-time or application-loading improvement over a particular hard drive.

What features and warranty does it include?
ADATA lists 3D NAND, SLC caching, LDPC error correction, S.M.A.R.T., TRIM, and NCQ for the SU720. Its datasheets state a three-year limited warranty. Warranty coverage and terms can depend on market and purchase, so check the terms that apply where you are buying.

What should you check before replacing the drive?
- Verify compatibility: Find the computer model and confirm that it supports a 2.5-inch SATA drive with the SU720’s dimensions.
- Choose a capacity: Check which SU720 capacity is actually available in your market, then compare its price, warranty terms, and capacity-specific TBW rating.
- Plan the migration: Back up important data before cloning or reinstalling the operating system. ADATA’s datasheets mention an SSD Toolbox and Migration Utility, but do not establish their current availability, operating-system support, or a workflow for your computer. Check ADATA’s current official instructions before relying on either utility.
- Confirm installation needs: Determine whether the computer requires a caddy, spacer, or other mounting part.
