The Acer Swift Go 16 AI is a portable, large-screen laptop with useful ports and strong battery life in ITPro’s test, but the specific model reviewed has a relatively low-resolution, modest-brightness OLED screen and falls behind some rivals in CPU benchmarks. ITPro tested the UK SFG16-A71-R6PQ configuration and listed it at £1,249 including VAT in its July 20, 2026 review; that is a review-era price, not a confirmation of current retail pricing.
Which Acer Swift Go 16 AI configuration did ITPro review?
Configuration matters with this laptop family. ITPro reviewed the UK-market SFG16-A71-R6PQ, equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 processor, Radeon 840M graphics, 32 GB LPDDR5X memory, a 512 GB SSD, and a 16-inch 1920×1200 60 Hz OLED touchscreen. The test results and display measurements below apply to that unit, not automatically to every Swift Go 16 AI.
Acer’s US specification page lists a different SKU, SFG16-A71T-R5UY: Ryzen AI 7 445 and Radeon 840M, but a 16-inch 1920×1200 IPS touchscreen at 120 Hz, 16 GB LPDDR5X, and a 1 TB SSD. It is not the same display, memory, or storage configuration as the ITPro review unit. Acer notes that specifications can vary by model and region. Check Acer’s specifications for the listed US SKU before applying them to another listing.
How good is the OLED display?
The reviewed OLED panel produces broad color coverage, but its resolution and brightness are restrained for a 16-inch laptop. ITPro measured a maximum brightness of 304 cd/m² and coverage of 100% DCI-P3, 100% sRGB, and 94% Adobe RGB. The publication also cautioned that color accuracy was not sufficient for color-critical design work.

At 1920×1200, the screen is less sharp than the 2880×1800 panels found on some competing laptops. It should suit everyday work and media viewing, but the measured brightness may be limiting in bright environments, and color coverage alone does not make it a dependable choice for precision color work.
How fast is the Swift Go 16 AI?
CPU performance is the main reservation in ITPro’s review. On the tested Ryzen AI 7 445 model, Geekbench 6 scores were 2,611 single-core and 10,651 multi-core. Cinebench 2024 results were 106 single-core and 646 multi-core. ITPro found the Acer behind several laptops in its comparisons, including the MSI Prestige 16 AI+ and Asus Zenbook A16. These are results for the reviewed configuration and test suite, not a ranking of every Swift Go 16 AI variant or every laptop on sale.

ITPro recorded 2,013 in 3DMark Time Spy and 1,635 in Steel Nomad Lite for the Radeon 840M. Those synthetic graphics scores provide a point of comparison, not a promise of performance in a particular game or creative application.
How long does its battery last?
The battery was a relative strength in ITPro’s test: the reviewed laptop ran for 18 hours and 21 minutes in the publication’s standard HD video rundown at 170 cd/m². That result reflects a video playback test at a specified brightness. Web use, video calls, demanding workloads, screen settings, and other configurations can produce different runtimes.

Is it portable, and what ports does it have?
ITPro gives the reviewed model a weight of 1.6 kg, which is relatively light for a 16-inch laptop. Its reported connections include two USB4 Type-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD slot, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Acer’s US product listing confirms USB4 and HDMI for the SFG16-A71 family, while warning that specifications vary by model and region.
The built-in selection can cover common desk and travel needs without requiring a dock. If you do add a USB-C hub or dock, check that it supports the display output, charging power, and ports you need with your exact configuration.

Is the Acer Swift Go 16 AI worth buying?
ITPro listed the SFG16-A71-R6PQ at £1,249 including VAT in its July 2026 UK review and judged it decent value at that price. In the review’s comparison, however, the MSI Prestige 16 AI+ was described as better equipped for the same money. This is a dated, UK-specific comparison rather than a statement about current prices or availability.
The Swift Go 16 AI makes the strongest case for someone who wants a large OLED screen, a comparatively portable chassis, practical built-in connectivity, and long video playback in the tested model. It is a less compelling fit if CPU benchmark performance, a sharper or brighter display, or dependable color accuracy for professional design is the priority. Compare exact SKUs and current local prices: the US-listed SFG16-A71T-R5UY, for example, swaps the reviewed OLED panel for a 120 Hz IPS touchscreen and has different memory and storage.
