A dated deal report puts an Acer Nitro V 16 with an RTX 5070 at $1,199.99, down from $1,299.99—a $100 reduction, not the $230 drop in the supplied headline. The Amazon price was reported on October 6, 2026; the live listing, seller, stock and checkout price have not been independently confirmed. PC Gamer’s report is the source for that dated offer.
What the reported Amazon deal includes
PC Gamer identified the laptop as an Acer Nitro V 16 configured with an Intel Core 7 240H, 16GB DDR5 memory, a 512GB SSD, and a 16-inch 1920×1200 (1200p) display with a 180Hz refresh rate. Its RTX 5070 Laptop GPU is specified at 85W. The reported discount works out to $100: $1,299.99 minus $1,199.99.
PC Gamer writer Andy Edser said the GPU “has been power limited to 85 W, but it should still do very well with a 1200p screen.” That is the writer’s assessment, not a measured benchmark or a manufacturer performance guarantee. The available sources do not establish comparative frame rates for this configuration.
Why the $230 claim is not verified
The October 6, 2026 PC Gamer report supports a $100 reduction from its stated reference price. It does not support a $230 discount. An exact-headline search result did not provide enough detail to confirm a separate offer or reference price, so the larger figure should not be treated as established.

Deal prices and availability can change. The report records what PC Gamer said Amazon was charging on October 6; it does not confirm that the listing remains live, that the same seller has stock, or that the checkout price is unchanged. Check the current listing and its price history or reference-price details before relying on a savings claim.
Check the exact Nitro V configuration before comparing
Nitro V 16 and Nitro V 16S listings can describe different hardware. The Amazon configuration reported by PC Gamer is not confirmed as Acer part number ANV16-72-98FJ / NH.U2FAA.001. Acer’s page for that related model lists a Core 9 270H rather than the deal report’s Core 7 240H, alongside 16GB DDR5, a 512GB SSD, a 16-inch WUXGA 180Hz display and an RTX 5070. Acer displayed that distinct configuration for $1,499.99 and marked it out of stock when accessed on October 7, 2026. Acer’s product page does not identify the Amazon deal’s exact SKU.

Another distinct machine is Best Buy’s Nitro V 16S, model NH.U23AA.002. Its listing specifies a Core 7 240H and RTX 5070, but pairs them with a 1TB SSD and a 2560×1600 display; its opened page showed a marketplace seller and a different price. It is not evidence for the Amazon offer. See the Best Buy listing.
PCWorld reported a separate Best Buy Nitro V deal in September 2026: Core 7 240H, RTX 5070 with 8GB VRAM, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD and 1920×1200 180Hz display for $1,250, down from $1,499. That is another offer, not confirmation of the Amazon price or a $230 reduction. PCWorld’s separate deal report also flags the limited included storage.

Is this a good deal?
The reported $1,199.99 price may appeal if you want an RTX 5070 laptop and are comfortable with the specified 1200p screen and 512GB of storage. The key trade-off to weigh is the GPU’s reported 85W power limit: the source expects it to suit the screen resolution, but no benchmark evidence here shows how it performs against higher-power RTX 5070 laptops. Compare tested results for the exact models if performance is decisive.
Storage is the more immediate practical constraint. PC Gamer and PCWorld both call out the 512GB capacity as small for a gaming laptop. An external SSD is one option; before buying an internal drive, verify the exact Amazon SKU and its expansion support. The available sources do not confirm internal slot availability or compatibility for that configuration.

What to verify before buying
- Current price and savings basis: Confirm the checkout price and what reference price the retailer uses; the dated report supports $100 off, not $230.
- Exact model: Match the processor, screen resolution, SSD capacity and part number in the live listing. Do not assume a Nitro V 16 or 16S with a similar name has the same configuration.
- GPU specification: Confirm the listed RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and its power limit; the reported Amazon configuration is 85W.
- Seller and availability: Check who is selling and shipping the laptop, stock status and applicable return terms.
- Storage plans: Treat 512GB as the included capacity. Confirm SKU-specific upgrade compatibility before ordering an internal SSD.
