Generally, no: Brother says Deep Sleep cannot be turned off on the models covered by its support guidance. You may be able to adjust how long the printer waits in Sleep Mode before entering Deep Sleep. The setting and menu path depend on your exact model.
Can you turn off Deep Sleep Mode?
Brother’s MFC support FAQ says Deep Sleep cannot be turned off, although Sleep Time can be adjusted. Its online guide for several HL-L2400 series printers likewise says the Deep Sleep setting cannot be disabled due to environmental considerations. These statements apply to the models those sources cover; because your model is not specified, check its Brother manual or support page rather than relying on a universal menu path.
Brother describes Deep Sleep as an automatic low-power state that follows Sleep Mode after a period without a job. The timing depends on the model and its settings. Brother says Deep Sleep uses less power than Sleep Mode, but the cited guidance gives no wattage or percentage savings.
What you can change instead: Sleep Time
Look up your printer’s model number, then open the corresponding online Brother guide or support page and find the Sleep Time instructions. If the model supports adjusting Sleep Time, increasing it may delay when the printer moves from Sleep Mode into Deep Sleep. The exact setting name, available range, and control-panel steps are model-specific, so do not assume a menu sequence from another Brother printer will apply.

- Find the model number on the printer’s label or control-panel information screen.
- Open that model’s Brother online user guide or support page.
- Search the guide for “Sleep Time” and follow the instructions for your model.
How the printer wakes from Deep Sleep
Brother guides describe waking the printer when it receives a print job or when someone uses the control panel. The supported jobs and visible wake indicator vary by model, so consult the guide for your specific printer if a particular type of network job is not waking it as expected.
Deep Sleep is not the same as Auto Power Off
Auto Power Off is a separate setting on some Brother printers; changing it does not disable Deep Sleep. Brother’s HL-L2350DW FAQ also says that this model does not enter Auto Power Off while connected to a network. That qualification is specific to the HL-L2350DW, not a rule for every Brother printer.
