Google opened Build with Chrome to users worldwide on January 28, 2014. The browser experience let people create virtual LEGO builds and explore creations placed on a map. “Available worldwide” describes that 2014 launch—not verified availability today.
What Build with Chrome was
Build with Chrome was a collaboration between Google and the LEGO Group, built with WebGL. It brought virtual brick-building into the browser: users could assemble creations and publish them to locations around the world. Google’s engineering retrospective describes two main modes: Build, for making creations, and Explore, for browsing builds on a LEGO-themed version of Google Maps.
Google’s launch announcement characterized the project as an experiment that had started in Australia: “It was originally built by a team in Australia as an experiment, and now we’re opening it up to everybody.” (Google Chrome Blog, January 28, 2014)
What changed when Google opened it worldwide
The 2014 announcement was a global release of an earlier Australia-focused project, not the first version of Build with Chrome. Google’s later engineering retrospective says the original launched in Australia in 2012 and the 2014 version was a global re-release with mobile support. The project also had to accommodate both mouse and touch interaction as it expanded beyond desktop use. (Google’s technical retrospective on web.dev)

What the early numbers mean
Google New Zealand reported that by July 26, 2012, more than one million builders had explored the early Australia-focused world of LEGO creations and 66,000 builds had been published. These are figures for that regional experiment at that date, not totals for the 2014 global release or for current use. (Google New Zealand Blog, July 26, 2012)
