Print the Legend is a 2014 documentary, not a new 2026 release, according to Netflix’s official listing. Whether you can stream it today depends on your country’s Netflix catalog.
Is Print the Legend new on Netflix today?
No. Netflix identifies Print the Legend as a 2014 documentary, so the “premieres today” wording does not describe a 2026 premiere. Netflix’s title page does not establish a new premiere date. Catalog availability and listing details can differ by country and change over time.
What is Print the Legend about?
Netflix describes the film as following the race for market leadership in 3D printing. The filmmakers’ international press kit gives the story a more specific focus: entrepreneurs and companies trying to bring 3D printing to desktop use and into the home, with the competition framed partly through the American Dream.
The directors, Luis Lopez and J. Clay Tweel, describe the film’s central question this way: “3D Printing will one day give us the power to make almost anything, but to handle that power responsibly, we must start by asking how we want to make ourselves.” This is the filmmakers’ perspective, not a statement of what today’s printers can produce.

How to check whether it is available in your country
- Open Netflix in your country or region and search for Print the Legend.
- Check the title page in your account. If it appears, review the available playback options and any local language or subtitle details there.
- If it does not appear, Netflix’s catalog listing does not confirm availability in your region; availability can vary by country and over time.
Is the documentary a guide to buying a 3D printer?
No. The press kit presents the film as a snapshot of the push to bring 3D printing into homes, not as current buying advice. It does not establish recommendations for present-day printer models, materials, or accessories, and it should not be treated as an endorsement of any product.
