The iPhone 13 is a 2021 phone with a smaller 6.1-inch OLED screen and two 12MP rear cameras. Those specifications make the Reno16 a stronger fit for people who prioritize display smoothness, camera-lens choice and fast charging; they do not establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in independent testing. OPPO configurations and prices vary by country, so this comparison uses its India CPH2865 model and identifies prices by source and date.

There is no universal winner from the published specifications alone. Choose based on the features that matter to you, and compare current prices for the exact models sold in your country.

- Consider the India Reno16 5G if you want a 120Hz screen, a dedicated telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, a high-capacity battery specification and 80W charging.
- Consider the iPhone 13 if you prefer Apple’s iPhone platform, a 6.1-inch display, and a two-camera system with a 120-degree ultrawide and sensor-shift stabilization on its main camera.
- Do not choose on megapixels or battery capacity alone. Those figures describe hardware, not comparative photo quality or real-world battery life.
The comparison is between products from different years: Apple introduced iPhone 13 in 2021, while OPPO announced the Reno16 series globally in June 2026. OPPO says release timing, availability and pricing vary by market. The Reno16 specifications below refer specifically to the India CPH2865 model, not every phone sold as Reno16. Display: smoother scrolling or a smaller screen?
The India Reno16 has the larger, higher-resolution panel and a listed 120Hz refresh rate. That refresh rate can make scrolling and supported animations appear smoother than on a conventional 60Hz display. Its listed brightness figures are 600 nits typical and 1800 nits HBM; HBM is a separate high-brightness mode, so do not treat it as the same measurement as Apple’s HDR peak figure.
The iPhone 13’s 6.1-inch OLED is smaller, at 2532 × 1170 pixels and 460 ppi. Apple lists 800 nits typical maximum brightness and a 1200-nit HDR peak. Both manufacturers quote 460 ppi, but the Reno16’s larger panel may suit someone who wants more screen area, while the iPhone’s dimensions may appeal to someone who prefers a smaller display. Cameras: more lenses on the Reno16, not a proven photo-quality win
The main hardware difference is the dedicated telephoto camera on the India Reno16. Its 3.5x optical zoom provides a separate optical focal length; the iPhone 13 instead offers a main camera and ultrawide camera, with up to 5x digital zoom listed by Apple. Digital zoom and optical zoom are different, and their maximum figures should not be treated as directly equivalent image-quality measures.
Both phones have stabilization listed for their main cameras: Apple specifies sensor-shift OIS on the iPhone 13 main camera, while OPPO lists 2-axis OIS on the Reno16 wide camera and telephoto. The Reno16 also has 50MP front and rear camera specifications, compared with the iPhone’s two 12MP rear cameras and TrueDepth front-camera system. Megapixel counts, lens count and stabilization details do not establish which phone produces better photos or video; that would require comparable independent testing.

Performance and software: compare platforms, not core counts
Apple lists the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. OPPO lists the India Reno16’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, an 8-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU. These component descriptions do not make a direct performance ranking: core counts and different platform specifications cannot substitute for comparable real-world benchmarks.
The two phones also belong to different operating-system ecosystems. Choose with the apps, services and devices you already use in mind. The cited manufacturer information does not establish how much software support remains for either exact device today, so check the current regional support information before buying if update longevity is a priority.

Battery and charging: capacity is not measured endurance
OPPO specifies a 6,700mAh typical and 6,490mAh rated battery for the India Reno16, plus 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Apple’s cited iPhone 13 specification page gives video-playback test conditions but not an mAh capacity in the surfaced specification text. Battery capacity figures alone cannot show which phone will last longer: usage, software, screen settings and test conditions affect endurance, and the cited material provides no matched independent battery test.

Apple rates iPhone 13 IP68 for a maximum depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. OPPO India lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K for its Reno16 5G. These are manufacturer-published ratings; read each maker’s terms and do not interpret a rating as a promise that water or dust damage is impossible.

Check network bands, SIM support and other connectivity against the exact regional SKU and carrier before purchasing. OPPO’s India details state dual Nano-SIM and no NFC or eSIM for that configuration. Its Japan announcement, however, identifies a 12GB+256GB model with nano-SIM/eSIM arrangements, and regional specifications may differ. Price difference: there is no single current figure
A meaningful price comparison needs one country, matched storage, and prices checked at the same time. The figures below are not a like-for-like current retail comparison: Apple’s figure is a historical US launch price, while OPPO’s are India prices published in 2026.

OPPO’s launch announcement and later India details page give different prices for the same listed configurations, so do not assume either is today’s checkout price. Verify the live listing in your market. No current iPhone 13 price for a matched country and storage configuration is established by these launch references, so they do not support a reliable numeric price difference.
