The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max and iQOO 15R target different priorities: Apple lists a larger 6.9-inch display and three 48 MP rear cameras, while iQOO lists a 144 Hz screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, and a much higher stated battery capacity. Those are specification contrasts, not proof that one is faster, takes better photos, or lasts longer in everyday use. For India buyers, iQOO’s available launch prices are historical; a reliable current price difference cannot be established from the published figures here.

Display: larger panel or higher refresh rate?
iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple lists a 6.9-inch OLED panel with 2868 × 1320 resolution, 460 ppi, HDR, an always-on display, and adaptive ProMotion refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Apple also states up to 3000 nits outdoor peak brightness. These are manufacturer specifications rather than a side-by-side measurement.
iQOO 15R
iQOO advertises a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Its higher listed refresh-rate ceiling may appeal to people who value smooth scrolling or compatible high-frame-rate games, while Apple’s phone offers the larger stated screen. Refresh rate alone does not establish which display looks better: resolution, brightness, calibration, content, and use conditions matter too.

Performance and software: what the specifications can—and cannot—tell you
Apple lists its A20 Pro chip, while iQOO lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage. Neither set of specifications establishes a real-world performance winner. A fair comparison for gaming, sustained workloads, or app performance would need independent tests of these exact models under stated conditions.
iQOO states that the 15R will receive four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates. Apple’s cited product pages describe Apple Intelligence and Siri AI but do not give a directly comparable support-duration commitment. The available statements therefore do not establish which phone will receive support for longer.

Cameras: more listed modules do not guarantee better photos
Apple’s listed camera system
The iPhone 18 Pro Max has three 48 MP rear modules: a Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, an Ultra Wide, and a Telephoto with 4x optical zoom. Apple also lists 8x optical-quality telephoto framing and up to 40x digital zoom. Those figures describe listed capabilities, not comparative image quality.
iQOO’s listed camera system
iQOO lists a 50 MP Sony LYT-700V main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8 MP wide-angle camera, and a 32 MP selfie camera. Megapixel counts do not rank camera quality, and the published specifications alone cannot answer which phone takes better photos or video. That requires independent comparisons across lighting, subjects, zoom ranges, and recording modes.

Battery and charging: treat playback claims separately
Apple’s India overview advertises up to 43 hours of video playback on iPhone 18 Pro Max and calls it “the longest battery life in an iPhone.” iQOO lists a typical 7600 mAh capacity and a rated 7440 mAh capacity; it reports 42.4 hours of video playback in an iQOO lab test. These are vendor claims, and the test protocols may differ, so the playback figures are not a direct battery-life comparison.
For charging, iQOO lists 100 W charging. Apple lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25 W. These figures describe different charging options; they do not, by themselves, establish how long either phone takes to charge in a particular situation.

Durability, size, and storage
Apple specifies IP68 resistance under IEC 60529, with a maximum depth of 6 m for up to 30 minutes. iQOO advertises IP68 and IP69. These ratings use defined test conditions and do not make either phone damage-proof; water resistance can also change with wear or damage.
Apple lists the iPhone at 249 g and gives its dimensions as 78.0 × 163.4 × 8.75 mm. A directly comparable iQOO weight and dimension figure is not stated on the cited product page, so size and hand-feel cannot be settled from these published numbers alone.

Apple’s storage range reaches 2 TB. iQOO’s India launch post lists configurations up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. If you keep a large local photo, video, or game library, compare the storage tier you would actually buy; the maximum capacities differ substantially.
Price difference in India
A reliable current price difference is not established by the available figures. The iQOO India community launch post, dated February 24, 2026, reported launch prices of ₹44,999 for 8 GB/256 GB, ₹47,999 for 12 GB/256 GB, and ₹52,999 for 12 GB/512 GB, with sales beginning March 3, 2026. Those are historical launch prices, not verified current prices or guarantees of stock. Apple’s cited specification page does not provide a price.
To calculate a useful difference, check both phones on the same date in India, confirm the seller and exact configuration, and compare like-for-like storage where possible. An iPhone 18 Pro Max configuration above 512 GB has no matching iQOO 15R storage tier in the launch configurations listed here, so that comparison would not be like-for-like.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the iPhone 18 Pro Max if you want Apple’s 6.9-inch display, its listed three-camera 48 MP system with telephoto framing, or storage options reaching 2 TB.
- Consider the iQOO 15R if its 144 Hz display, Snapdragon platform, stated 7600 mAh typical battery capacity, 100 W charging, or published Android and security update plan better fits your priorities.
- For gaming or camera quality, look for independent tests of the exact models rather than treating chip names, refresh rates, or megapixel counts as a verdict.
- For a purchase decision based on price, verify current India listings for the precise storage configuration and seller; the launch figures above do not show today’s price difference.
