Specifications can differ by market, and Motorola specifically cautions that its listed specifications may vary by market. Peak brightness and battery-life figures are manufacturer claims, not results from a shared independent test. How do the screens compare?
The Edge 70 Pro’s 6.8-inch display gives it a substantially larger viewing area than the Pixel 10a’s 6.3-inch screen. Motorola also lists a higher resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, compared with Google’s 1080 × 2424 resolution and 60–120Hz range. That makes Motorola the stronger specification-sheet choice if screen size and maximum refresh rate are priorities.
The listed peak brightness figures—up to 5200 nits for Motorola and up to 3000 nits for Google—are manufacturer claims. Which phone has better cameras?
Motorola lists higher-resolution sensors across its camera hardware: 50MP main, 50MP autofocus ultrawide with macro, and 50MP autofocus front camera. Google lists a 48MP main camera with optical and electronic stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide and a 13MP selfie camera. Google also highlights Night Sight and Camera Coach.
Megapixel counts describe resolution, not the quality of the resulting photos. The published specifications do not provide a controlled camera comparison, so they cannot establish which phone takes better pictures overall. If camera quality is decisive, look for independent sample comparisons for the exact regional models rather than choosing by sensor resolution alone. The Pixel 10a uses Google Tensor G4 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The Edge 70 Pro 5G is listed with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme and 8GB or 12GB of RAM. No comparable benchmark results are established here, so these processor and memory specifications do not justify calling either phone the measured performance winner. Battery and charging
Google specifies a typical battery capacity of 5100mAh and claims 30+ hours of use. It also says the Pixel 10a can reach up to 50% charge in about 30 minutes when using a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher; that charger is sold separately. The phone supports Qi wireless charging. Motorola advertises up to 51 hours for the Edge 70 Pro, but the available specifications do not establish a shared test protocol or a directly comparable endurance result. Software support and durability
Google states that the Pixel 10a receives seven years of OS and security updates. The consulted Motorola specifications do not state an equivalent support period, so there is no like-for-like update-duration comparison to make from these sources. Google’s India announcement on February 18, 2026 set the Pixel 10a’s announced price at Rs 49,999 and said the phone would be available from March 6, 2026. That is an announced price, not necessarily the current selling price. [Google India launch announcement]
On October 4, 2026, 91mobiles displayed an Amazon listing of ₹51,649 for the Pixel 10a and a Flipkart listing of ₹36,999 for the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G. Subtracting those displayed amounts gives a ₹14,650 difference, with the Pixel listing higher. For a purchase decision, compare the live price from the same retailer, the same storage tier where available, and the final checkout amount after any bank, exchange or promotional offer. This India comparison should not be applied to other countries, where availability and pricing differ.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if you prefer a larger screen, a higher listed maximum refresh rate, or higher-resolution camera hardware on the specification sheet.
- Choose the Google Pixel 10a if you want a more compact phone, Qi wireless charging, Google camera tools, or an explicitly stated seven-year OS and security update commitment.
- Compare the exact local model before deciding if durability ratings, storage configuration, network compatibility or current price will determine your purchase.
These are preference-based conclusions from published specifications, not a verdict based on comparative lab testing.
