Which drinks and cup sizes can each system make?
Vertuo Pop+ sizes
The Nespresso USA Pop+ listing gives five sizes: espresso (1.35 fl oz), double espresso (2.7 fl oz), gran lungo (5 fl oz), coffee (8 fl oz), and XL (12 fl oz). These are the sizes listed for that U.S. model, not a guarantee that every Vertuo machine supports every size. The listing also describes a double-click coffee-over-ice mode as producing a more concentrated pour intended to reduce dilution; that is Nespresso’s description, not an independent test result. OriginalLine drink styles
Nespresso’s comparison positions OriginalLine around ristretto, espresso, and lungo, along with Americano and milk-based recipes. Its emphasis is espresso-style preparation rather than the Pop+ listing’s larger 8- and 12-ounce coffee formats. Which range fits better depends on the drinks and serving sizes you actually want.

Do Vertuo capsules fit OriginalLine machines?
No. Vertuo machines take Vertuo capsules, while OriginalLine machines take Original capsules. The official U.S. Vertuo capsule catalog and U.S. Original capsule catalog list them as separate families. Check the capsule packaging and machine system before ordering; a capsule from one line is not a substitute for the other.
Which system costs less?
The available U.S. capsule prices do not establish a fair cost winner. Nespresso USA’s Vertuo catalog showed examples of $10.80 to $15 per ten-capsule sleeve when reviewed in 2026, varying by blend and capsule format. That is a sample of product-specific listings, not a universal Vertuo price. Comparable current U.S. Original capsule prices were not established, so a like-for-like per-capsule comparison is not possible from these figures.

Capsule price alone can also mislead because the systems serve different volumes and drink styles. To compare your likely spend, use current prices from the same country and date, and compare capsules for similar drinks or prepared volumes. Do not treat a larger coffee capsule and an espresso capsule as equivalent servings.
For machine price, the U.S. Pop+ product page displayed $99.99 when accessed October 4, 2026. This is a time-sensitive listing price for the cited model and color, not a durable MSRP or a comparison with an unspecified OriginalLine machine. Check the current product page before buying.

What should you choose?
- Choose Vertuo Pop+ if you want the specific machine’s listed larger coffee options, including 8-ounce coffee and a 12-ounce XL drink, as well as espresso sizes.
- Consider OriginalLine if your routine centers on ristretto, espresso, lungo, Americano, or milk recipes and you prefer that espresso-oriented range.
- Check capsule availability and price for your market before deciding on recurring cost, because the two systems use separate capsule families.
Pop+ size and care details
The U.S. Pop+ listing specifies a removable 25.4 fl oz water tank, dimensions of 8.6 × 14 × 10.4 inches, and a 30-second heat-up time. These are Pop+ product facts, not a hardware comparison with OriginalLine machines, which vary by model. The U.S. Pop assistance page lists a one-year warranty and links to cleaning and descaling guidance; warranty terms can differ by country and may change.
