Yes. Wesfarmers pays interim and final dividends. Its declared ordinary dividends for FY2026 total A$2.22 per share; against the company’s A$76.22 share-price snapshot on 2 October 2026, that works out to an indicative cash yield of about 2.91%. The yield is a dated calculation, not a promised return, and it excludes the tax value of franking credits.

Wesfarmers’ latest dividends

Wesfarmers’ official dividend information lists two ordinary dividends for FY2026. Both are 100% franked. The final dividend was declared with payment scheduled for 7 October 2026.

FY Dividend Cash amount per share Franking Record date Payment date
2026 Interim A$1.02 100% 25 February 2026 31 March 2026
2026 Final A$1.20 100% 2 September 2026 7 October 2026

These dates and amounts are from Wesfarmers’ dividend information. The final payment date is scheduled; it falls after the 4 October 2026 date of this article.

How to calculate Wesfarmers’ dividend yield

For an indicative ordinary cash yield, add the ordinary dividends for the financial year, then divide by a share-price snapshot from a stated date:

A$1.02 + A$1.20 = A$2.22 per share; A$2.22 ÷ A$76.22 = approximately 2.91%.

The A$76.22 figure is the WES price shown by the company’s investor centre for 2 October 2026 at 16:10:19 AEST. The 2.91% is a derived estimate using that dated price and FY2026 declared ordinary dividends; it is not a company-published yield. A different share price changes the result.

Keep the period and price date consistent

State which year’s dividends you use and the date of the share price. Dividing an earlier year’s dividend by a current price can be useful as a historical comparison, but it is not the same as a yield based on the current year’s distributions. A forward yield based on expected dividends is an estimate, not a declared outcome.

Separate ordinary and special dividends

Wesfarmers lists a 40-cent-per-share special dividend in 2025, fully franked, as the dividend component of a capital-management initiative. It should not be treated as a recurring annual payment in an ordinary yield calculation. The company has also listed an 18-cent special dividend in 2020. For comparison, its ordinary dividends totalled A$2.06 per share in FY2025: A$0.95 interim and A$1.11 final, according to the indexed excerpt of Wesfarmers’ 2025 Annual Report.

How often does Wesfarmers pay dividends?

The company’s dividend table shows an interim and a final ordinary dividend in each of 2024, 2025 and 2026. The ordinary amounts have changed over those years:

Financial year Interim per share Final per share Total ordinary dividends
2024 A$0.91 A$1.07 A$1.98
2025 A$0.95 A$1.11 A$2.06
2026 A$1.02 A$1.20 A$2.22

Totals are calculated by adding the interim and final ordinary amounts in the company’s dividend history. The pattern shows two payments in those years, but it does not guarantee a dividend or a particular amount in a future year.

What the yield does—and does not—tell you

Dividend sustainability needs more than a yield figure

A yield is a ratio, not a measure of how comfortably a company can keep paying. Wesfarmers says its dividend policy considers available franking credits, current earnings and cash flows, future cash-flow requirements, and targeted credit metrics. Investors assessing the distribution can examine those factors alongside the ordinary-versus-special mix.

A high yield can result from a falling share price as well as a higher dividend. It does not, on its own, establish value, financial strength or safety.

Franking is separate from cash yield

The latest interim and final ordinary dividends are shown as fully franked. Franking credits may affect the tax outcome for eligible Australian taxpayers, but the 2.91% calculation is cash dividends divided by share price and does not add any value for those credits. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances; this yield figure is not personal tax advice.
