Golf With Your Friends is the clearest first pick for Steam Deck owners who want social mini-golf: its Steam listing marks it Verified and supports online matches for up to 12 players. For other tastes, Golf It! emphasizes player-made courses, Cursed to Golf is a solo roguelike, and PGA TOUR 2K23 is the simulation choice mainly for people who already own it.

Which game should you choose?
Choose Golf With Your Friends for easy social mini-golf
This is the straightforward recommendation if you want to play quick, playful rounds with friends. The Steam listing describes three modes, themed courses, an editor, and simultaneous online multiplayer for up to 12 players. It also supports solo and local multiplayer. Its Verified label gives it the strongest compatibility evidence among these picks.
Choose Golf It! for community-made courses
Golf It! suits players who want more courses to explore or make. Its listing describes eight official courses, thousands of Workshop courses, a course editor, and cross-platform multiplayer. The Steam page reviewed did not show a Deck compatibility rating, so the course features alone should not be taken as proof of handheld compatibility.
Choose Cursed to Golf for a solo roguelike
This is not a traditional multiplayer golf game. It turns golf into a single-player roguelike: work through hazardous, dungeon-like holes and use cards to change how a run unfolds. Its Steam listing describes more than 70 holes. A Deck rating was not established on the listing reviewed, so check the current store page if compatibility is decisive.

Choose PGA TOUR 2K23 if you already own it
PGA TOUR 2K23 is the simulation option here, but it is a poor default for a new Steam purchase: SteamDB records its Steam app as retired from the store at the publisher’s request. SteamDB lists it as Playable, not Verified, and notes small text, the need to invoke the keyboard manually, and an active internet connection for first-time setup. Availability and status can change, so check current listings before making plans.
What Steam Deck Verified does—and does not—tell you
Valve’s Steam Deck compatibility program evaluates controller input, display legibility and resolution, seamlessness, and support for Proton and middleware. Verified is a defined compatibility rating, not a promise of a particular frame rate, battery life, or preferred graphics settings.

Valve says games reviewed for compatibility retain their ratings on both Steam Deck LCD and OLED models, and that reviews are ongoing. Because ratings and store availability can change, check the game’s current Steam page and compatibility panel before buying. For Golf It! and Cursed to Golf in particular, the pages reviewed here do not establish a rating; do not infer one from genre, controls, or course features.
