I had this bizarre experience – when I clicked the WordPress recovery password link, it redirected to /lost-password/ and returned the page not found error.
It took me a while to figure out the problem but it turns out that it was caused by Woocommerce. Apparently, Woocommerce was managing the WordPress password recovery but the /lost-password/ wasn’t set up.
The reason for this is that my site does not use Woocommerce for password recovery.
The solution?
Delete the lost-password entry in the WooCommerce Account endpoints page.
Here are the steps:
- Hover over WooCcommerce, click Settings, then click Advanced.
- Then, scroll down to the Account endpoints section, remove the lost-password in the “Lost password” filed and save your changes.
Once you make this change, when you click the “Lost your password?” password recovery link, it will redirect you to the correct password recovery page.
I hope you were able to fix the problem with the steps I used to fix mine! Let us know using the “Was this page helpful?” question below.
